Who is really teaching “Replacement Theology” ?
(Did God fulfill His promises to the Jewish people at Calvary? Matthew 26:28, John 19:30)

The advocates of modern Dispensational Theology often accuse others of promoting “Replacement Theology”, or some may even say “Antisemitism”. What does the Bible say about their accusations?

1. Who is replacing Christ as the seed of Abraham through which all the families of the Earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3, with Abraham’s modern descendants? (See Paul’s interpretation in Galatians 3:8.)

2. Who is replacing the one people of God in John 10:16, with two peoples of God ?

3. Who is replacing the one seed (Christ) in Galatians 3:16, with the many seeds?

4. Who is replacing the children of the promise in Romans 9:8, with the children of the flesh?

5. Who is replacing the faithful “remnant” of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5, with the Baal worshipers?

6. Who is replacing the word "so" in Romans 11:26, with the word "then"?

7. Who is attempting to replace the Church made up of all races of people, with one made up only of Gentiles? Why did Peter address the crowd as “all the house of Israel” in Acts 2:36, when about 3, 000 Israelites accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost?

8. Based on Hebrews 9:15, the New Covenant cannot be separated from the Messiah’s death. Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 connected to the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26. Is the covenant with the “many” in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the “many” in Matthew 26:28? If it is, some have replaced the New Covenant in Daniel 9:27 with a future covenant made by an antichrist not found in Daniel chapter 9. (See the 1599 Geneva Bible used by the Pilgrims.)

9. Those promoting the Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology often accuse others of teaching “Replacement Theology”, but are they the masters of it? Are they promoting a form of Dual Covenant Theology based on race? (See “genealogies” in Titus 3:9) Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?

10. Watch the YouTube video “Genesis of Dispensational Theology” to see the origin of this man-made doctrine, which is less than 200 years old. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church.

Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology.
Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church:

“The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.”
Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107.

Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne, ’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.”
Lewis Sperry Chafer. Systematic Theology. 1975. Vol. IV. pp. 315-323.

John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated…

"...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.”
John F. Walvoord, The Rapture Question.1979, p. 25

Are there two peoples of God in John 10:16? (See also 1 John 2:22-23, 2 John 1:7-11.)

What is the land promise to the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16?
(See what Joshua said about the Old Covenant land promise in Josh. 21:43.)

Based on 2 Peter 3:10-13, is this earth “eternal”? Will it be replaced by a new earth?

Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups?

Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and is it fulfilled by the blood of Christ at Calvary in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 12:18-24?

Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church, if the New Covenant is “everlasting” in Hebrews 13:20? (See also 2 Thess. 1:7-10) If the New Covenant has made the Old Covenant “obsolete” in Hebrews 8:6-13, why would God go back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period?

Read the recent book "The Rise and Fall of Dispensationalism", by Daniel G. Hummel.

A Free Gracer who is not a King James Onlyist?? Wow! Way to go Charles!! So far, you are the first I have encountered.

Pastor Furse has read and studied his bible. This is evident by his position which is supported heavily by Scripture. Charles, on the other hand, seems to have his head buried in books on dispensationalism rather than Scripture. This is obvious to any acquainted with the bible. There is very little coherence in his thought process. He's all over the place.

I used to be dispensational until I studied more carefully the Bible. Many of the verses that Pastor Furse brought out were the ones that made me pause and question dispensational especially as it relates to modern Zionist state and the doctrine of the pre-trib rapture which go hand in hand to Christian Zionism.

I also listened to orthodox Jewish Rabbis who are also adamantly opposed to Zionism. For those interested listen to Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro on his lecture, "How Zionism Hijacked Judaism." It's a scathing rebuke on the modern state of Israel.

The one question I ask those who believe in Christian Zionism is, "How is America blessed by supporting Israel?" Our nation is in shambles! From politics to the economy to education and culture!! Where is the blessing of God that false pastors like John Hagee promise to those who bless Israel???

Our foreign policy is dominated by AIPAC. You can't even get elected if you don't support Israel. Members of congress have been bought out or blackmailed by AIPAC.

THE Body of CHRIST has got to wake up and read the bible for themselves and not to be deceived by the false doctrine of J N. Darby's dispensational popularized by the C.I. SCOFIELD BIBLE!

If, like dispensationalists claim, the Abrahamic covenant has not yet been fulfilled, what should we do with all of the scrap paper left behind from cutting all these verses out of our Bibles?

“43 Thus the Lord gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there.44 And the Lord gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the Lord had given all their enemies into their hands. 45 Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.”

Josh 21:43-45

“21 You brought your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and outstretched arm, and with great terror. 22 And you gave them this land, which you swore to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. 23 And they entered and took possession of it. But they did not obey your voice or walk in your law. They did nothing of all you commanded them to do. Therefore you have made all this disaster come upon them.”

Jer 32:21-23

“20 Judah and Israel were as many as the sand by the sea. They ate and drank and were happy. 21 Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.“

1 Kings 4:20-21

56 “Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant.”

1 Kings 8:56

8 You found his heart faithful before you, and made with him the covenant to give to his offspring the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite. And you have kept your promise, for you are righteous.”

Nehemiah 9:8

42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham, his servant. 43 So he brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing. 44 And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil, 45 that they might keep his statutes and observe his laws. Praise the LORD!”

Psalm 105:42-45

19 And after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance.”
Acts 13:19 (physical land promise fulfilled)

“ 32 And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, 33 this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm,
“‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you.’

Acts 13:32-33 (TRUE land promise fulfilled)

Secular Israel is done, the tree was twice dead, plucked up by the roots and thrown into the sea of the gentiles in A.D. 70 The mountain of Secular Israel was plucked up by the faith and prayers of the first century saints, and thrown, temple and all, into the sea of gentiles. The secular nation of Old Covenant Israel was replaced by the tiny seed of faith, the mustard seed of the Kingdom of Christ that has spread, not only to the land of Israel, but to every nation on the planet!

revelation 20 and the beginning of 21 are referenced in Peter where Peter says a 1000 years is as a day, referring to the longsuffering of God. And that we look for a new heaven and new earth (rev 21). So the 1000 years refers to the time from Christ's ascension and the ingathering of believers into the body of Christ (ye are seated with Christ in heavenly places) to the 2nd coming of Christ.

1 Tim 5:21 KJV I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

1 Cor 5:3 KJV For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Rev 20: 4 KJVAnd I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them:

Eph 2:6 KJV And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

In short the millenial reign refers to the spiritual realm that is occurring now as the gospel is being preached and people are being born again, and seated with Christ in heavenly places. Romans 7 says that "with my mind I serve God" but with the flesh "sin". So the "head" is disconnected from the "mortal body", which is what the reference in Revelation 20 to beheading refers to.

Romans 7:25 KJV: I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Also consider that Jesus speaks of "binding the strong man" and Ephesians references the descent of Christ and taking captivity captive and giving gifts" which is a reference to the OT prophecies of the "day of the Lord" when the LORD comes to defeat the enemies and give the inheritance. These are not future events only, but refer to what Christ accomplished on the cross and resurrection and his time in the underworld, the heart of the earth, where the strong man (=Satan) is bound. Isaiah 28 refers to Ariel speaking from the dust as a familiar spirit. So the enemy which is Satan still carries out his deceptive work, but from his headquarters in the bottomless pit, where he will be released (Rev 9). What seals the Devil in the pit is that he no longer as any ground to accuse Christians since there sins are washed away in the blood of Christ.

Dispensationalists obsession with the land is insane! And it was like lol when the guy wanted to argue well "all" doesn't mean "all"...yet doesn't like that same argument for "all" Israel shall be saved or not "all" Israel is of Israel 🤦... ridiculousness! Thank you pastor Furse for trying to convey truth... unfortunately dispensationalists cannot grasp it!

Being a Jew today doesnt mean what it did in scripture. Judaism is a religion not an ethnic group. Mormons are Mormon, JWs are JWs, Catholics are Catholics, Judaism is Jews, so on and so forth. Mormons have a land called Utah.. Anybody today could be physically descended from a tribe of ancient Israel. The original Christians were Israelites, where are their descendants? Nobody's physical descent means anything, the biblical lineage was all for the purpose of Christ alone. Anyone can convert to Judaism and be called a Jew ever since Judaism began around 200ad, ppl have and still do. Judaism is not the faith or religion of the OT believers, and it is also not the same physical Israel from 2000+ years ago. It is just another false religion.

I think Dr Brown in the debate (link above) does greater scriptural justice to the argument Charles was making. God bless Charles, whose sincere focus was on asking questions and trying to understand the Pastor’s position.

I do recommend this debate for a better understanding of both positions.

What an odd way to 'debate'. Ask questions more than you present arguments.

A better question for a debate is "is the term replacement theology a breaking of the command that you shall not bear false witness?"

I don't understand how anyone can read Romans 9-11 and think that the church replaces Israel, or even that God is finished with the KINGDOM of Israel, which he's coming back to rule the world from.

The Northern Kingdom was divorced by Yahweh and sent into punishing exile, leaving only one "tenth" behind in the land.

Very soon afterwards the Southern Kingdom Judah was also invaded and taken into captivity, excluding one "tenth" left in Jerusalem - but NONE of Judah were divorced by Yahweh.

Later the one "tenth" of Jerusalem was also taken into captivity to Babylon but returned to Jerusalem after 70 years.

At the time of Christ, the Southern Kingdom remnant still despised the Samaritan Northern Kingdom remnant - their Israelite brothers.

All of the Northern Kingdom were once again as 'good' as Gentiles, now that they were divorced !

The nine tenths of BOTH the exiled divorced Northern Kingdom Gentile Israelites, AND the exiled Southern Kingdom exiles 'dissapeared' into the mists of history - but have since joined up into ONE Christian STICK, as too happened with BOTH the converted Christian Samaritan "tenth" and the converted Christian Judah "tenth" that remained behind, as Yahweh said they would.

The "TWO STICKS" have already been joined into "ONE STICK" under Christ.

The Bible also states that Edomites would "despitefully" steal His
