The Anne Frank House is a writer's house and biographical museum dedicated to Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank. The building is located at Prinsengracht 263 Amsterdam, close to the Westerkerk, in central Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

During World War II, Anne Frank hid from Nazi persecution with her family and four other people in hidden rooms, in the rear building, of the 17th-century canal house, later known as the Secret Annex (Dutch: Achterhuis). She did not survive the war but her wartime diary was published in 1947. Ten years later the Anne Frank Foundation was established to protect the property from developers who wanted to demolish the block.

I wish the "museum" was kept simple & authentic. It's basically a holocaust shrine, losing site of the impact on simplicity in just having the annex and personal belongings. It's fine if they want a separate area or wing to educate about the holocaust but i feel like corporate minds took over & over complicated, less is more. They must of thought the basic annex was not enough to get the message across? To the contrary, i envy those who went before greedy tycoons glamorized a hiding spot into a glossy, audio-fied, this modernized glass wreck! The love & care you put into sharing this gem with us is Beautiful!!! For a place ive heard lousy reviews on and will never visit, you do a great deal of justice towards as I've heard it is not a pleasant experience compared to decades past. I'm deeply grateful & so happy clicked on this art because you made art out of darkness, you brought light 🕯️💗🙏🏻🕊️ i almost didn't watch because of the bad reputation and i didn't think people could film in there which made me think it's not a real video, but im happy my curiosity took control because the experience and effort you make is truly a lovely time. Many people will never go, so you are helping to show those who can't and want to go. I just read her words, i have a graphic novel, love her diary & films, i don't need to be troubled to travel and the hassle of that overly regulated tourist trap to get what matters, the message of peace & hope for all the world & humanity. That life is sacred & precious.

Thank You, I'm obviously not a fan of what the museum has morphed into but i love your presentation and care you took to show people why history is important, and to remember those who suffer in unjustifiable anguish & at the hands of evil. I wish it was kept on the occupants and Anne, and less on a general holocaust museum, as we have those and the emphasis should have been kept on Anne and the individuals time there, their desperate attempt to save their lives from persecution. When I went to go see the Anne Frank House back in 2006 (almost 20 yrs ago) there was no glass front doors and all these additional exhibits. You entered through the store front, paid your admission and toured the house. It was all very quaint and hauntingly touching. I was moved to tears. However with the exception of preserving the attic and rooms, it looks unrecognizable.

I visited the house but it looks so different. It’s been a few decades ago. I took a lot of photos. I stayed there all day. I need to go back and look at the photos I took there.

This stabs my heart every time. This is something that needs to keep being taught to the younger generations. People need to see what hatred and bigotry is.

I'm grateful that the museum has much expanded since I visited in 2007. Much more education and preservation happening.

Was here in 2006 loved the old way into the tour of the house but I was sorry the furniture was all gone. Worth a see. Went to Auschwitz’s the following year!

A great place .great museum .Im sad however because when i think about Anns classmates they probably didnt survive neither 😢😢except Jacqueline van marsen because her mother was christian and a girl Hannah i believe, i cannot remember her family name..All the others died in camps..😢 So sad..Thank you miep Gies too.. it is thanks to you that ann s diary is known worlwide..bless you and all the jews ❤❤ 🛐

I love to go see in her house for where she hiding from the nazies for what she writing her diary to kitty. But we all miss her so much that she gone in camp for where in peace in rest.❤❤😢
