2 years under Geno and he should improve his decision making considerably .. this is a gift to him to understudy under Geno who has a ton of experience and will help him in the QB room

In football we all know it can take just 1 game to change who will be the starting QB. If Howell shines in training camp and pre-season, Geno will need to perform. He will be the starting QB until he isn't. I like both of them and have seen both play at the high level it takes, so looking forward to a good year.

Agree with Simms, Smith and the Seahawks offense in general were held back by the shabby offensive line play last year. Odd that Schneider apparently doesn’t value offensive line highly considering the 3 times Seattle has gone to the Super Bowl they had a pro bowl center and one of the highest if not the highest paid OL units overall.

Seattle isn't as dysfunctional as WASH, but the team stats weren't much better last year. Both had bottom 5 OLines, bottom 5 defenses, and the two lowest rushing attempts per game. Both had horrendous playcalling. Both got their coaches fired. The difference is SEA had enough talent to almost make the playoffs despite all those things. Geno was under similar duress as Howell yet took half the sacks, threw half the INTs, and set an NFL record for comeback TDs while making the probowl again. Still don't get why Hawks fans want Howell to take Geno's place right away; we already saw what he would do in the same situation. Howell is in a great place to learn how to work inside the pocket from a veteran that produced despite also running for his life last year. Howell's not ready, but might be in a year or two.

Howell could win the job by week 7 if Geno doesn’t get it done. Wonder what number he’ll wear. Geno has his college number and DK has 14

Howell is someone who should get 20 more starts, I don't think Winston is a template for anyone I think most can learn to throw fewer picks. I think he has a running game, line, coaching, he could become a top half QB, to go 4000 yards your first season in the NFL, that is rare. Better protection and receivers will probably solve most of his interceptions and he is a 4000 yard QB with a rating approaching 100, he has more upside than Fields. Geno had his years you should win or tank with Howell, his play and wins will determine if he starts next year.

Basically Smith is not good enough to take us anywhere near where we need to be, so its just a case of Howell biding his time getting used to the city/team/ground/crowd etc for a few weeks then he will get his chance...
