Building the BEST DIY Modern Planter Box

In this video I show you step by step how to build a wood slat planter from start to finish. In this DIY how to video, you will need very minimal tools to achieve a sleek a modern planter.

This was a great addition to my house and it turned out better than I expected. If you’re looking for a fun diy house project, give this a try!

Materials:
Plastic Planter = 1 Planter

2x2 Pressure Treated Lumber = 4 Needed

1x2 Pressure Treated Lumber = 12 Needed

Cedar Stain = Half pint to quart

Material Cut List
* Please note: yours may be a little off from mine. So use my measurements as a general guide especially when installing the slats.
2x2 framing
- 24in x 4 pieces
- 14in x 10 pieces
- 13 3/4in x 2 pieces (support for planter)
1x2 Slats
17 7/8in x 28 pieces
16 5/8in x 28 pieces

Very nice! I think that the support for the actual planter would be stronger if you put the ends of the two structural members that cross the middle on top of the two horizontal members that connect to the legs.
