INSANE Backyard Fire Pit Under $500

I couldn't be happier with how this backyard diy fire pit turned out. We started by clearing the old pit and laying down paving rocks + sand to create a level surface. From there we used 15" paver blocks in a 4x4 pattern to create the base for the pit. From there we added 3 levels of pavers, connected using concrete glue, and topped offer with paver caps. From there we added premium landscape fabric and our "Red Rock Crush" rocks to form the perimeter.

In total the fire pit itself has a 4 foot internal diameter, and the entire structure is 15 feet in diameter.

In total, this circular fire pit was ~$465 dollars. While not cheap in and of itself, it was very cheap relative to what the cost would've been to have a 3rd party build this backyard oasis.

Will never go back to a regular fire pit after experiencing a smoke less fire pit

Beautiful! Beautiful scenery too! I'd be out there all the time! Great job 💞

I've built two pits very similar. Using same blocks at least. I can't believe that the base holds up. Both of my pits have cracked most of the blocks in two seasons of use. After the third I have to rebuild as they are so cracked it is near unsafe.

Highly recommend lining interior with fire brick. This will be my next rebuild method.

Looks great. Should have added some pipe underground from inside to outside to help the fire breathe and not create as much smoke.

I built a similar one lasted years but kept cracking so I bought that concrete glue you recommended in this video and some fire bricks to line it with 😂we shall see if it will help get a few more years

You should make the inside of the pit look like a well when it is empty.

nice clean work gentlemen might consider some combustion air down low maybe some rain water weep holes definitely a success and that view👍🏻

So when i barrow the stump grinder go Cultivate my ground real quick to avoid all the work. Then rake, level, base, build n glue, cover base, weed barrier, and rocks. Looks great!!

Why did they show them sitting around the fire pit without it being lit?? That's like trying to swim in an empty pool ...

Can you please share the links to the paving stones and the top rack? They are beautiful.

So does the pavers and landscape fabric keep the fire from going under the ground? Is that why you placed the pavers and landscaping fabric?

i'd use caution with adhesive around areas that are subject to heat. You never know what VOCs or other nasty reactions heat with have / give off interacting with the adhesive.

Those blocks will not hold up to heat. You either need fire rated block or a steel ring, with sand or stone from the base to the bottom of the ring.

Does it smoke more without a vent at the bottom? Honest question haha, The build looks good to me

Did you remove the rest of the grass or will the landscape fabric and rock kill it for you? And does this help with drainage aeay from the fire pit?

I did this but actually made my own smokeless fire pit

Just needing some bending board between the rocks and the grass.

Lowes sells that fire pit with a metal ring for $250

Just be careful with anything that can absorb water. If water stays inside a block and then is heated by the fire, the block can literally explode.
