The goal of this format is to find a popular song that the drummer hasn't heard before. We put the band’s name in the video title so it’s easier for fans of the band and people interested in music to know what the video is about. While every video is different (and yes, sometimes the drummer has never even heard of the band at all), you will always be able to see which specific song the drummer is going to be learning in the video description.

We put these videos together in order, as they happen in the Drumeo studio to give you the most transparent look into every drummer's creative process. Samus' episode was particularly interesting because his learning process was different from every other drummer who's participated in the format so far.

I hope you enjoy the episode!

Recording the audio cues for himself is pure genius.

Love that he basically plays the track like a rally driver taking cues from his navigator about what the upcoming section is.

66Samus should be what every studio drummer should aspire to be like. A an absolute class act. Clean, professional, not over the top and humble to boot. So glad drumeo left the vocal queues in for us to learn from. A true stroke of genius.

Officially. I want 66Samus voice for my Google maps navigator.

I only saw him doing "comedy" and "fun" drumming, seeing him play "seriously" made me realize how good he really is.

Who was laughing at the cheat sheet and thought 2 mins into the song "damn, this is exceptional and one of the best drumeo recordings ever" ???

He did this song justice, no other way to say it. You just love the amazement and admiration in their faces as they realize what Bonham was playing on a single kick pedal with a massive bass drum in front of it, and some of the fills he would pull off. It’s fun to watch.
Love his audio “cheat sheets”. It’s YOU thinking about what comes next, but without taking away from your focus on the physical aspects of playing. A literal voice inside your head from someone looking over your shoulder who knows exactly what you need to know.

“Move to the ride and do the Rush beat” may be the best audio cue ever recorded.

This is officially the most impressive 'First Time' video to me. I've also never heard this song but the fact that he did this in one take, with his own cues and it sounds like it genuinely could be the original drum part is INSANE!!! He plays this so confidently without a single mistake, impeccable!

Man turned it into a Dream Theater song, and I'm here for it. Absolutely crushed it.

This is like the drum version of "measure twice, cut once." Prefect. Amazing.

His audio queue track is genius. I totally see this becoming adapted by so many drummers, trying to learn quickly.

The best part of these videos is not the actual product, but learning how each musician has their own process that works for them.

Never heard of this drummer but love his attitude and playing. He truly put his stamp on this classic and brought it into modern times. Excellent.

As a non-drummer, what really stands out to me is the look on his face. He really looks like he's enjoying the fucking hell out of himself. I love it.

Samus' vocal queues sound like Beavis and Butthead watching MTV. Love it.
