Idk why anyone is surprised. The x3d chips have been doing this for a while now...

Happy with it myself. X3D is to be compared to X3D in my eyes in regards to gen on gen improvements.

Congrats on the new house. As for AMD, it's responsible for them to NOT release a chip with any chance of being faulty. Also the 7800X3D is very very fast for gaming workloads. It would be a lot to expect any non-X3D CPU to match it in gaming performance. That would mean Zen 5 has a huge clock for clock increase over the 7900X. It's amazing to see it tie the 7800X3D at all. One thing this means is that Zen 5 X3D will likely be a beast!

why did you move Daniel? we won't hear the signature "kids running around above you" background sounds anymore 😆

V- Cache vs non V-Cache, 1 CCX vs 2 CCX communicating with each other.... Very big Surprise....
The fact that the 9900x is so close is impressive even when it doesn't have v cache and more latency from 2 CCX.

Audio sounds totally acceptable, no need to rush to put in rugs :)

I believe the 7000 non-X3D SKU was about on par with the 5800X3D in gaming workloads, so I think the vanilla 9000 series losing to the 7800X3D is to be expected. It’s also reported to be on N4P process which is much smaller node shrink than the last gen’s N7->N5.

Thanks Daniel. Hope your family is able to settle in well over the weekend.

"Incorrect voltage" could also mean "intended elevated voltage to stay competetive because our node sucks compared to TSMC's but it turned out it can't handle it after all and now we're scrambling for excuses to hide our incompetence from investors". People should run benchmarks with their CPUs now and after the fix to see if there's any change.

the target for someone buying a 9900x is not the same as someone who buys 7800x3d so this is honestly irrelevant. i knew the 5800x3d is better than the 5950x at gaming and i still bought the 16 core for that reason precisely

Congrats on the house upgrade. It takes a lot of income to buy a family house in the current market. Hats off

Pretty sure the 7900X would also lose to the 5800X3D, they are CPUs built for a different purpose.

well 9900x is not a "gaming" cpu, what would be more interesting is price to performance comparison between 9600x and 7800x3rd

New setup not looking bad at all! You did have a bit of a shadowed-eye Nightcrawler thing going on (which is fine cos nightcrawler is the best x-men) but I'm sure the fill lights will fix that all up when you're settled in :)
Man, tech news is crazy these days. Can be hard to keep track of everything so thanks as always for the round up!

Hi Daniel! I'm Italian and unfortunately I know Saddy: it's one of those channels that for a few more clicks doesn't bother to spread completely incorrect information. I do not deny that he had a copy of the new processors in hands, but I am practically certain that any "test" he has decided to carry out has been done in its usual way, which is bad. An example of a person from whom we have to always distance ourself, unlike you! Have a good evening and I hope your new home makes you happy!

Some people are at that point that are comparing x3d(MADE SPECIFIC FOR GAMES) vs a non x3d. Is that x3d is so good FOR GAMING not that 9900x is bad, also CPU is made not only for gaming, almost the same in games and all games don't support x3d cache.

really liking the lighting in the new set up. you always inform us with so much in depth tech info, and thank you for everything you do, but don't forget to rest! especially with what you have going on right now.

I can hear a little echo from the new place, but it's not bad. If those prices are correct, I'll be getting a 9700X for $299. I was originally hoping for a 9600X at $249. Thumbs up for great videos!

Compare multicore performance. It won't even be in the same league

That was a very nice, informative video. Sound was good, no problem whatsoever.

There's a lot of stuff happening right now... i'm glad that there are people like you who collect everything and summarize it. Very informative and entertaining too. Thanks!
