It's crazy how fast they get hot. I sifted and restarted Gomer (my compost pile) yesterday and he's already at 100° by noon today. I'll probably turn it tomorrow when I'm not so sore from sifting and lugging compost.

That is really the tough part, enough organic matter at once

I love 18 day composting! It's addictive and it's a great workout...and the compost turns out great. I have one finished and am starting a new one this week!

I'm hoping my new corrugated pipe pile work this hot season. Am not looking forward to any turning like when winter was slow

Man, that comfrey is looking less so-so!
Since I can't grow any, am going to rob Mother Nature (Conservation behind my house).

I gave up when someone said, "and don't let it get too hot, it will kill all the beneficials..."

Sprinkle chicken feed throughout the pile and then release the birds. They'll turn that compost pile on their own.

I compost in the back of my pickup. I can get that compost up to 90. 🤠

That compost sucks, it doesn't have comfrey in it 😂
