I had to put one of our hens down last week. As newer chicken owners, this was the first one we have ever lost. Broke my heart to do it because we raised them from the egg, but she was suffering greatly. I buried her in our forest near the coop and laid wild flower seeds all over the grave. Made me happy to know that she’ll help make those flowers beautiful.

I heard that in the past, native Americans were buried with a walnut in their mouth. The walnut grew into a tree nourished by the decomposing body

Had one of my pet ducks passed, so I Buried her in our compost pile. Well, we also grow our pumpkins in the pile, and that year, she gave us our biggest pumpkin yield!

We buried our late german shepherd in the backyard, & so many beautiful flowers shot up soon after. Theres now a 5 year old willow tree that grew right on top, thats nearly taller than our house. The best way to remember a pet is to let them grow into somthing new, be it food or flower
