#4. The mixtures/balance shortcut gives 19% + 52%(21.5%-19%) = 19% +(13/25)(2.5%) = 19% + 1.3% = 20.3%. Since the numbers are so nice, some students will do this mentally.

#7. This seems to be a recent favorite of the College Board, but the points vary or instead of a^c - b, the function may be a^c + b. The key hack is that the difference in the function values is also (a^c)(a^c - 1), which is often (from what students have said) the product of two consecutive whole numbers; here, 110 = 114 - 4 = 11(10), so a^c = 11, and using the point (c, 4), b = 11 - 4 = 7. The question composers need to be more creative! -- otherwise, this "template question" will be too easy for some.

#9. Fast is either x - k = 0 or x = k; if not, divide both sides by x - k to get the other solution of 2k - 5a, etc.

#10. I used 1 unit = 7m so the key triangle is a 3-4-5 right triangle to get the volume as pi(5+3)4^2 / 3 units cubed, so converting back to metres, k = 8(16)7^3 /3, etc.

For question number five when the question says that the function increases BY kπ, does it mean how much the function increased by or what it increased to? Since the question said increase by, I think the answer should be 50/3 and not 52/3 because when the radius is zero the function is 2/3 and when you plug in thirteen for the radius the function increases by a factor of 50/3 which results in the final amount of 52/3. The function itself didn't increase by a factor of 52/3. That was just the final amount after the increase of 50/3. Please correct me here if I am
