The most sure thing any of us can be about anything, is in Peterson's ability to somehow come up with an argument in favor of religion. And the most sure reason we can assess is because he works for the Daily Wire and talking about/defending religion/god is part of his job. If Peterson were to just look at Harris and say "You know, you are right, religion is stupid and an appalling hindrance to human kind" then he would find all his stuff in a nice cardboard box out side the Daily Wire studio when next he goes into work. When you are defending something because you have monetary drive to do so and not just because its something you passionately believe, i am under no obligation to take you seriously.

Is religion the root of all evil? No. Irrationality is the root of all evil. Religion is just one symptom of that.
