I'll be honest. I always thought that the top of Greenland was the north pole.

It just occurred to me, that the surface of earth is a constant, but if you took cross-sectional area in the lattitude, it would only make sense that as ice retreated (has been for SOOOO LONG), that it would accelerate it's loss's based not on just perimeter, but the amount of warmer air surrounding it. Mass flow matters, not just temperature. So the geometry of the planet being spherical, means the ice loss will get faster as it retreats to a smaller and smaller PORTION of the air/land of the plant! Duh. Not to say we shouldn't be better stewards of the environment, but that it makes some sense why it appears to be accelerating. Multi-variable formula! Anyways, loved the animation. Made me think more about the ice-loss. Now I want to write a fiction book about the future. I'll call it 2084 ;)

Funny how we should flood every year from the ebb and flow by rising sea levels when it melts. Interesting this is a cgi video.

It's the loss of old ice [the whitest ice] that's the problem.

the likely reason they did animation, is because clouds would get in the way of pictures and it would be a lot harder to see the results all the way from space.

Some people need to read the great Northwest passage and how it transpired this is happened before and it was well before the combustion engine I have been looking at this for years at around the. Of 1984 we were just coming out of a cold. From the volcano going off Mount saint Helen it went for almost a 10-year period from 78 to about 87
