I met Richard Lynch at a Horror Film festival in Spain, back in 2009. He was an outstanding and an underrated character actor as well as a wonderful human being. Besides, he was my favorite screen actor and I missed him a lot. RIP maestro.

Love the Seven Ups. Great underrated, gritty movie with a lot of cool character actors.

THE SEVEN UPS was made by the producers of THE FRENCH CONNECTION as an unofficial sequel, and contains what I
consider the best car chase EVER committed to film. And Richard Lynch steals the movie every time he's on screen.

This guy was always a favorite. You would think the pivotal incident of the fire would be mentioned since only days or weeks after it, he made a very raw video showing himself still in quite considerable physical pain and warning against drugs...

He also did a tour de force performance on an episode of Starsky and Hutch where he played a psycho but brilliant Shakespearean stage actor who was offing cabbies because he was hit by one and lost an arm and a leg, also losing a potentially wonderful career.

I remember his facial scars, which he apparently got after setting himself on fire after a bad LSD trip. They always seemed a part of his characters.

Jersey Journal, Jersey City, NJ, Thursday, June 29, 1967; ACTOR IN REAL FIERY SCENE-A 27-year-old unemployed actor who splashed himself with gasoline and then turned himself into a human torch in Central Park was in critical condition today at Bellevue Hospital. Police said Richard Lynch, of Manhattan, was discovered yesterday when a passing motorist saw him running in flames across the grass at the Park's East Drive at 79th Street. Lynch had apparently taken a gasoline can to the park behind the Metropolitan Museum and set fire to himself, police said.

Damn. I had no idea he died until I saw this clip Sun 12-27-20. I thought he was a cast member of The Electric Company but I looked it up & was wrong. Jim Boyd sure kinda looked & sounded like Richard Lynch back in the day, but WTF did I know? I was just a kid at the time.
Anyway, I especially remember him in Buck Rogers & Invasion USA opposite Chuck Norris...worth it👍.
From how his death sounded...😱. I shudder to think.

A masterful, mesmerising performer. Richard`s portrayal of Riley in Scarecrow was as harrowing as it was disturbing
and as it was superb.
