Lionel needs to be known for ALOT more than just Potter. I think he was very underrated. He had alot of physical pain and personal heartache in his life. But did pretty well for himself. A true lesson in resilience. Not so tragic life!

Iven being Russian, after watching the movie It's a Wonderful Life 1946 at the age of 31, had an incredible desire to learn more about these great people who once lived in one of the most interesting and controversial countries, The USA! )

I wouldn’t say he had a sad ending. He lived a full life with many blessings. He was a brilliant actor. 🥰💚

I loved him in on Borrowed time. Free a soul. Saratoga those two. Clark. Gable. It's a wonderful life and so on..l would agree he lead a very interesting life. I did t know he sure fed pictures and painted in his studio attached to his house. Much love 🌷🎈 for Mr. Lionel. Barrymore oh l can't forget him as Shirley. Temples grandfather in the little military child.

Why do they toss in the "Sad" part in the title? We all die and most of these people tend to have lived good lives.

Always thought he played a bad guy the best. Until l watched the movie you can't take it with you. He played a good man!

It's tragic that he lived a long life with a successful career?

You forgot to mention his portrayal of "Dr. Gilllespie" in the Dr. Kildare movies 1938 to 1941 or '42, i believe, co-staring Lew Aires!

The entire time of his life, he did not want anything to do with acting. But Barrymore only returned to it for his survival. He had to earn an income. Unfortunately, he never realized his heart's desire to be that successful painter.

I liked him best as Dan Peggotty in David Copperfield (1935).

Here's my two cents. 'Life and sad ending' is a terrible title for this page! Yes, some stars did have difficult endings to their lives. But, many of these are simply mini bios, where the person lived a full life, and passed in a way that's not at all sad. Please consider changing. Also, whoever does the vocal needs to research pronunciations, and practice the commentary! There is frequent hesitation and mispronounced words!
Other than that I very much enjoy your page.
