A learning experience for that boat owner for sure! He has hawseholes leading through the back of that cockpit wall, why the hell didn't he feed the towline through those and tie it off onto something _designed_ to take a load? And then the dinghy crane flopping around like a wet noodle, he's got more problems than ripped up fiberglass that at least is well above the waterline.

Curious situation. Why is the davit swinging? Seems like he might have tried to lift the dinghy somewhere it was too rough. Had to settle for tow. Clearly not a regular tower. I almost wonder if dinghy wasnt strapped down well and fell off top offshore.

Crazy ass thing is that their was a handle attached to that piece, think if u were climbing up that ladder from the swim platform and all the sudden boom u fall backwards into the water or if u were parked in a slip u are falling backwards into a dock or dock piling or anything like that. That seems like it should be built a lot better then that. I mean hell that’s the back wall of their upper cockpit area It ripped the door off and

Tide going out probably helped in this situation, if the tide were going in the tender could of hit the rocks. Very lucky, maybe next time secure the line to a stronger tie off point not the handrail.
