Here's the thing to remember with self-righting motor lifeboats: just because it CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD. The surfmen take great care to avoid rolling the boat as much as possible, because rolling it is not a clean move. It'll flip back upright, but you're gonna break some stuff in the process. It's not designed to just get rolled and abused; it's designed to be able to survive and get you back to safety if conditions ever get that bad.
