This is what happens when you take a bass boat on the ocean

“Came out of nowhere..” Nope, it definitely came right out the ocean. It even waved at you!

In a shituation like this, nevwr straight bow. Always "cheek" it, the round of the side of the bow to break the rolling/big waves, and never the narrow point, but when cheeking, always be ready to trun in to the wave once youve impacted it. Saves a boatload of bow stuffin😅

Oh no, where did these waves come from? They just came out of the middle of nowhere, it's not like we saw them at the boat launch😂

Interesting fishing technique...always thought you pulled the fish out of the water first.

a tanker prob threw those waves from a mile away, i know a guy who lost a boat the same way just outside of a jetty running the beach. normal waves then some 15 footers out of nowhere. in this video after they clear the waves its perfectly calm too. scary

Ships should have shock absorber like big trucks! Hope our future engineers will design it..❤

Trim up motor at just under 45degree angle or less if you're prop is showing, push throttle until your bow is high, start hitting waves and manage throttle as necessary. Probably wouldnt even get that wet.

Not sure how this boat is designed, but in my actual bass boat, I can trim my motor up and throttle into it to lift that bow up as to not nose dive into the wave

To those you say don't take a bass boat in the ocean, I would just say it's not a good idea to take any boat inside the impact zone, situational awareness was more important here. Yes, I know there are lots of boats that could handle those waves. Just because they can doesn't always mean you should.

When new to an area, it’s always best to observe the shore for at least 15 minutes before venturing too far inside. Lucky folks there

A lot of people debating this in the comments. I haven’t seen the full video but I can tell you that this is NOT a bass boat. It’s a flats boat. While they are in a particularly bad spot (break zone), it is common to take flats boats near beaches in search of Tarpon.

Done that for over half and hour in a 18ft bass boat in lake erie spearing the tops and falling between it will definitely sharpen your skills and show you what a boat really can do hang on enjoy the rush

Lol this is one of the main tenets of surfing: wait for the set to roll through before paddling out. Otherwise, you'll probably get smashed. And if you have a motor, should be relatively easy to get past the impact zone in-between sets.

This was just a poor read of the ocean.
