David Horowitz used to speak about this in his book, Radical Son. The far left represented by the Black Panthers lionized criminal, violent, and radical behavior because they viewed the criminal element as resistance against the establishment. Criminals were simply revolutionaries who were inherently fighting the establishment, they just simply didn't understand yet the philosophy of why they were acting out the way they did. The far left was united by a brotherhood of violence against an unfair racist order. The Panthers used to go into jails and proselytize. Hamas seems to me to fit right into their ethic.

I for one will never understand it! It is absolutely bizarre! Seems all these people are still living at home, sucking pacifiers. But I think it is the unsettled feelings inside themselves, the unrealized potential which gnaws at them and when they look in the mirror they see a good for nothing who has loads of student loans.
