When most people are asked to name the most brutal and murderous leaders in history, they will first mention the names of recent dictators like Hitler and Stalin. Going back further, many people will talk about the Norse raids, the British Empire, Attila the Hun, and so many of the most vicious Roman Emperors. However, going back before any of them came to power, Genghis Khan and the Mongols permanently reshaped an enormous portion of the world, and changed the culture and genetic makeup of the region forever. The khan was a master strategist and his brutal warriors left a path of destruction in their wake.

Genghis never attacked a country first, he attacked only for revenge.
He attacked the chinese because they killed his relatives.
He attacked the mid Asia because they insulted his emissary.

But he did not attack India, when he easily could do that and win, why?

This may sound nuts.. but I’d like to go back in time and just observe these historical conquerors and wars. Just to see the war tactics and combat during that time.

#8, I've it heard different..the way I've heard it was, yes, after Genghis' father was murdered, the clan broke apart, leaving him, his mother and siblings alone. they hunted to eat and whomever made the kill, no matter how small, it was divided between the whole family. well, they caught the half brother eating all of his kill, without sharing, and timogen killed him with his bow and arrow.. that's how I've read the story.. I may be incorrect, but I've read it that way in several different books by different authors...

For number 8, you seem to be forgetting that at the time, there was very little food, and in order to stay alive, it had to be shared. However, his brother refused to share the food. Consequently, Temujin killed him. Whilst this may seem brutal now, it was likely that his family may not have survived if he hadn't done that.

The life story of Genghis Khan is the most inspiring ever. His father was killed by an other tribe when he was only nine years old. After that, the clan abandoned his family to live alone in the harsh cold of The Steppes. Temujin (Genghis) spent his childhood in hardships and slavery. He understood that only Power is survival. Luxury is just an illusion, and that it can end any moment, like it did after his father's death. His rise from a poor boy on a wasteland, to creating The World's Largest Empire is the most real and inspiring story ever told.
He never sought war for plunder or wealth. He always retaliated as a last option. Just by analysing plain facts from his life, you can clearly tell that Genghis Khan had one of the strongest wills and principles.
He is a role model for everyone
