Imagine getting the number for pepsi and thinking you win, but then seeing more people getting the number must be confusing

For the first one, I'd make a sign saying, "This is the house where the find my iPhone glitch occurs, no I didn't steal your phone." with a link to the subject

I remember hearing in the Pepsi, Where’s My Jet documentary that Pepsi workers died because of it and it didn’t really get out because it was just in that area but then it was revealed after the harrier jet lawsuit

I'm a Filipino and the Pepsi incident is a big news in our country. Basically,  the number 349 had been printed on up to 800, 000 bottle caps. That number of claims could not be supported. Claims from almost 500, 000 cap-holders were received. Instead of paying out 1 million Philippine pesos to each winner the company decided to pay out around 1, 000 Philippine pesos.

Yeah Pepsi has a really bad problem of promising stuff and going back on it. There's an entire documentary about a guy who tried to get a plane from Pepsi when they said you could buy one with their points you got from drinking Pepsi but went back on it. Frick Pepsi, DR Pepper forever.

Couldn't he sue the company? I mean the entity that employs children in other countries and profits off suffering and charges inexorbitant amounts for their products would give me zero pause to sue the living shit out of them for the stress.

349 was actually a throw-away number that factories could use. The real mistake was announcing it because they gave them the numbers for a test site.

The last one was sad because it led to the deletion of 5 people

Terrible fact: after the Pepsi glitch, people everywhere started riots and unfortunately 5 people died.

Need more info about the last story. If it’s not commented already, I ’ll try to find it and leave a link if anyone cares.

* it’s further discussed in comments below👍🏽

Glitches are what makes my phone bill so high. I'm not even kidding, I get a couple hundred "accidental" calls per week, some because for some reason the telephone of the social workers in the place where I did my apprenticeship is dead set on calling me whenever they check their voicemail or try calling someone who called back, but most because my number seems to exist multiple times or sth. There's regularly people from Cologne or somewhere around that (that's 183km from here) calling to order a pizza, a couple of people also tried to get an appointment because they thought they called a doctor and just the other day someone called me to ask about the prices in a hotel in whereever.
