My cousin did the "TikTok money glitch" back in 2017 before TikTok was even created.. he went to prison for this in 2018 for a term of 8-11 years. Its expected he'll be released for sure in spring of 2025.

We've entered a wild age where people publicize themselves committing fraud and crimes on social media.

I worked for a bank. My bank would freeze the account, go after the person to recover the money, and get state and local law enforcement involved. FTC, FBI and Department of Treasury could be called in as well. You'd be black listed from ever opening an account with the bank again and we'd share that information with other banks and most of them would blacklist the person as well. Imagine trying to function without a bank account.

Blows my mind that people did this... like, you're in their system. They have all your information. It's like if you broke into someone's house and robbed them, then left a note saying "Hey I robbed you, here's my full name, address, SSN and license plate number"
