Descript Season 4 - Stability, quality + Regenerate, Eye Contact, and more new AI features

At Descript Season 4, we recapped improvements we've made since we released Storyboard just about a year ago. Then, we covered a bunch of new exciting stuff that's coming soon, including Descript for Web, and new features like Eye Contact, Replace selection, Record scene by scene, and Regenerate. CEO Andrew hits it all in this video.

Hey, everyone! So, when can you get your hands on these amazing features Andrew just shared with us? Here's the rollout plan:

1. Descript for web: This is available right now for some of you in beta. We'll continue to roll it out in the coming weeks.
2. Eye Contact: It's expected to roll out later this month.
3. Replace Selection: You can look forward to using this feature by the end of this month.
4. Record Scene by Scene: This will go live in July.
5. Regenerate: This feature is coming your way in July.

It would also be great if there is a spelling & grammar check in the editor to help produce better scripts.

Descript is fantastic and the evolution and improvements are incredible! Thanks so much!!
I'm new to Descript and doing my best to learn it, but I'm having trouble finding great quality training. Yeah, there are a lot of videos, like on the Descript site, and they teach a lot of things, but unfortunately most of the "instructors" leave out some of the finer details or steps, as they describe how to achieve a certain effect.
My #1 wish for future versions is to use AI for tech support so I can ask a question like, "How do I insert a graphic overlay onto a video scene and have it dissolve or fade after a couple seconds?" And then have "Descript AI tech help" direct me to a quick little step-by-step video tutorial about how to do the thing I can't figure out. Maybe someday…
With all that Descript can do, it seems like it's worth the learning curve challenge. Guess I will just struggle with my video projects and figure things out on my own until I 'get it.' I hope to get good enough with Descript that I can stop using other traditional video editors all together.

These are amazing updates. But I find the process of removing filler words so difficult! Evertime I do it, I end up with some weird missing words, half words etc. That’s what I bought a subscription in the first place and I find it sometimes unusable and end up using iMovie! Yes I watched all your tutorials. Also overdub is so difficult to use sometimes. I love these new tools, but I prefer getting rid of these bugs. Honestly I haven’t recommended descript to anyone because Im worried they can’t deal with the existing bugs!
