Why? Because Bulgaria's last international win was almost a year earlier and this country had plunged into the crisis after two humiliating defeats at home to Montenegro and Lithuania. It is because their league soccer isn’t competitive yet. A small country could at least join a neighbor country’s league.

Brunei is a small country; but its based club join neighbor Malaysia that are more competitive.

A competitive league would result in an inprovement national team.
