Good points you make, just like to add Portugal has so many diverse & unique beautiful beaches all along its spectacular coast, at the end of the day Portugal is still on average the sunniest country in Europe (like you say over 300 days is fantastic), sure it might rain more in the North (winter months mostly) than the South & it is much hotter inland with minimum rainfall but on average its #1 that's a fact, the Azores & Madeira islands have more rainy days than mane land but they are nature paradises, if not for the rain they wouldn't be paradises eheheh. Portugal clicks more boxes than any European country when speaking of quality of life living by a long shot, not so much for the lower working class because of the lower wages (hoping this improves so the young people stop going abroad to make more money that they rightfully deserve for their time & hard work) but for expats & retyring folks its #1, safety is only the tip of the iceberg amongst many other things Portugal offers . One important thing I love about Portugal is that I can travel to a point of interest in way less travel time to actually enjoy & explore when I get there do to the countries smaller size in land mass, not like here in America - Canada where you spend way more time traveling to a destination only to have way less time exploring & enjoying, life's to short especially in our older ages to be wasting time & fuel not to mention conserving our energy for when I get to point of interest, all this in a country with tones of history, castles, forts, picturesque towns, breath taking architecture, diverse nature from N to S & E to W, many animal sanctuaries & gardens, great public transportation & getting even better, all around clean country & I believe Portugal is at 75% + using clean energy this is a big plus for every one not just Portugal, respectful locals & people in general, great food at affordable prices with large portions oh yeah so many great affordable wines eheheh & much much more, After all these years Portugal stayed the course & now this beautiful country is getting what it deserves & that is total RESPECT & admiration from other cultures & from Portuguese people abroad who had to leave Portugal for whatever reasons, mostly left for better paying jobs or family . So yes I envy those moving to Portugal I too will go back to my true home one day after almost 50 years away (have been back visiting but that only has made me miss my beautiful Portugal & its people even SAUDADES!! <> so much longing!! Thanks for the upload & please forgive me for the long comment :)))

Great channel great tips, just a bit surprised that the "weather" can be presented as a number 1 motivation to move to a European country with such high level infrastructures on many fronts as well as such a rich history and culture. These seem to me the real roots of the quality of life in Portugal, not...the weather... It would thus be useful and practical to hear more about these in order to have a practical view on the real life in the country. In any case if we decide to approach the "theme weather" it would maybe be accurate to explain that even if quite sunny in the Summer Northern Portugal has one of the highest yearly rainfall in Europe and in Lisbon it does rains as much as in London ( average data, as things are unfortunately changing due to climate change in Europe...). This is only natural due to the influence of the Atlantic. Rain fog and also a lot of Sun are inseparable from the Portuguese old and rich history which followed to a great extent the moods of the Atlantic Ocean. One will find cold and snow inland and no cold at all in the Algarve, but great motorways high speed communication infrastructures one of the best public health systems in the world and one of the highest level of use of renewable energies in Europe that one can find everywhere in the country.

Most portuguese find the term expat offensive.
Immigrant is not a dirty word.
