You can also take a little nail about an inch long and stick it in the bottom of bic lighters. Keep the nail in it when using the lighter. When it runs out, take the nail out and use a 2.99 can of butane to fill it back up and replace the pin. Alot cheaper than buying new bics. The hole from the nail will need to be slightly smaller then the tip of the butane. Works :)

For everyone commenting that it doesn't work: I tried it and was too unsuccessful, but I think I've figured out why- if you remove the metal shield that covers the thumb wheel (which for some reason I always seem to just do) then the flint powder you grind of will just transfer to your finger off the wheel and you'll never accumulate much. At least thats my theory based on my black thumb and clean tissue.

If the lighter was "revived” it would have fire coming out of it.  It only sparks, I can do that with a lighter that works!  If you take the chrome cover off it will give you a few more lights, that’s a “revive”!

You can also take two dead lighters hold one in each hand so the part where the flame should be touches on both lighters than light em both together it might take a couple tries but the left over gas in both lighters combined is enough to create and maintain a flame

This seems to be an easier method to the prison match. The prison match is done almost the same way. Dead lighter, toilet paper and some lent from a used sock. Make a funnel with TP, a small amount of sock lent roled into a ball, add lent ball to TP funnel, use the dead lighter to spark the lent ball.

hey Kipkay, wanna know something interesting? well couple of days ago i accidentally knocked over a lamp with one of those CFL bulbs in it over and it made the base come apart, (not the glass tube with all the mercury) inside there's an assortment of capacitors, one electrolytic cap, a small transformer similar to a transistor radio audio transformer and a couple of wire wound inductors mounted to a small circular circuit board, just wondering what kind of projects you could make with the components inside a cfl base
