when your phone is so dry that you don't even need to use "do not disturb" lmao

i have gotten into the habit of deleting all social media apps (youtube, reddit, facebook) from my phone and only using them through my phones browser. it's much less convenient than the actual app and makes it harder to mindlessly binge content but still gives you access in case you need/want it.

Do Not Disturb mode on my phone changed my life. I remember having my phone with me whilst I am trying to work but I kept getting notifications or things come through my phone and I kept checking my phone. Once I started putting my phone in Do Not Disturb mode whilst working, I found that I was able to enter the flow state easier and stay in the flow state to complete my work. When being distracted prior, the struggle with working was that it was difficult to go into a flow state since I kept breaking focus.

✨ tip ✨ if u find yourself addicted to your phone turn your phone to greyscale!

also as a communication major, it was interesting to see your perspective on how you can take back control of your device. I think you might enjoy looking into social constructionism, technological determinism, and mutual shaping. these topics are my jaaaam 🍓✨

Inspiring video! Going to start "decluttering" my phone now!

Love how you're intentional about what's on your home screen! Keeps the distractions away, right? I'm using boost app social for the same vibe, but for my social media accounts.

My phone is on “do not disturb” mode 24/7 and it’s been like that for over 2 years🥰

I love that Do Not Disturb automatically comes on at night. Unless I’m actively texting someone I don’t even realize it’s on.

I have the 7+, but I am still really grateful. I do have times when I watch these videos and feel like I wish I had it, but my phone has all the features I need. So, it works just fine :) Thank you for this video!!

This was GOLD! My apps were all over the place before watching this. I decided to follow your guide and wow, I love this new layout! I added Headspace to that first page and I can already tell that I'm going to be meditating more because it looks so dang cute (added it as a widget).

Thank you!

Productivity trick: Sometimes I use the Forest app but toghether with the guided access option! I remove the possibility to touch the screen or go away from the app, unless i digit the code and this adds a lot of friction to disrdaction. Cause sometimes i just close the forest app and reopen it really quick when the notif comes that my tree is dying. I do this bunch of times so i can do everything without letting my tree die. Having to put in the code, let me have that two or three second where I think "no you have to get back to study".
I also do this when i have to look at something on my phone for school (like a pdf), i use guided access so i can't go to other apps.

“It’s the frequency to which you do that” for sure, for the month of June I’m actively working on self improvement and spirituality and part of that is changing my productivity behaviors. I’ve been a slave to the shopping, gaming, social media apps and they suck up so much of your time. Your ideas on how to use your smartphone at a tool is awesome, thank you for this! Can’t wait to implement this in my routine ☺️

when I turned 21 my parents got me my first cell phone. i told them to return it because I don't need it. i have a house phone and my laptop is all I use for work then once I close it I close all the tech in my reach. People freak out that I don't care for any of this stuff but I could care less on what others think. going on 24 now and I am so happy with my decisions

The quote at the beginning though, 👏🏽 I feel like so many of us forget about the power of taking control, and our relationships with our devices, especially during this time
