Patients Know Best Education Programme

As part of our social mission and company ethos, we offer the Patients Know Best platform free of charge to any institutions teaching medical, pharmaceutical or other healthcare students, to support the remote consultation and patient management practices of our future healthcare professionals.

Interprofessional learning can be easily facilitated through the Patients Know Best platform. Use of the platform can teach students about patient centred care, communication and empower them to become digital leaders.

On the platform, students can:
👩‍🎓look at case study patients, including their medications, lab test results, symptom tracking and more
👨‍🎓practice monitoring their care / treatment remotely for simulated patients
👩‍🎓communicate directly with real patient volunteers via secure messaging
👨‍🎓see a longitudinal view of a patient volunteer’s health
👩‍🎓develop and share care plans with patients and other students
👨‍🎓learn how to safely share data with patients
👩‍🎓practice digital skills on an NHS approved platform.

A bit about Patients Know Best

Patients Know Best (PKB) is Europe’s largest personal health record (PHR) platform, enabling patients and healthcare professionals to access real-time health information anytime, anywhere.

The system connects information from primary, secondary, social and mental health care providers, to create a single, unified copy of patient data. Everything from test results, care plans, real-time monitoring data and discharge summaries, to the patient’s own data are all securely available in one patient record.

In 2020, PKB became the first PHR to integrate with England’s national health platform - the NHS App - to allow patients to access PKB’s full health and care record and functionality.
