They sell recessed vent boxes for 2x4 and 2x6 Wall
 
Recessed dryer vent boxes are tight in a 2x4 wall. While it’s common, the duct can get slightly compressed into an oval shape, restricting airflow.
If possible, frame the laundry room with 2x6 walls so you can fit a deeper box and maintain full airflow.

better yet, put the laundry machines on an exterior wall, and vent straight through the wall.

It'll clog in about 6 months. The dryer doesn't have enough pressure to push the lint straight up the pipe to the roof. It'll be on fire in a year or so. Who vents a dryer out of the roof?

Also, what he's not telling you, is that because there is no access in that room, the ventilation ducting to that recessed access needs to be long enough to stretch to just outside that closet in order to attach and shove in, also causing massive lint buildup due to design.

They also make oval pipe. Heck the box isn’t even mounted level 😊

Please also make an access on the back side to be able to clean that dryer vent out, since it goes to the roof, will need to be cleaned every 2-3 years, also, don't cover the roof exhaust with mesh, lots of water damage occurs this way.
