The best way in my opinion is to get a desert village and an auto smelter, then smelt tons of sand into glass and make panes to trade with cartographers it's deadly fast

Consider instead:

Grow massive bamboo farm, automate it, turn bamboo into sticks, sell sticks to fletchers for emerald, use emerald to buy armor. This is MUCH faster than an iron farm but an iron farm gives you more uses beyond trading.
