When I was in highschool I went on an ill advised with a guy who was already in his 20s, people told me he's weird but I was a dumb teen and didn't listen. So he tried to impress me by claiming he's a prophet and when I laughed because the situation was so absurd he got extremely angry, I tried getting away but he kept yelling at me about how he's a prophet and what not, it was very scary and luckily I got on a main street with lots of people and he gave up eventually. If someone claims he's a prophet you better run.

Okay as a former stripper. It is actually really common to have girls come to work there and try to like “recruit” you or whatever it would be called. Often times they’re “boyfriends” (pimps) would be sitting in the club watching.

Basically every club has a “no pimp” rule weather it’s written or not. I always told the bouncers and they would make the guy leave.

It made me so angry because there were sooo many girls who worked there who were young and naive and forsure would fall for their game. So as someone who knew better and less vulnerable I did what I could to try and stop it. A woman can do whatever she wants with her body but no way am I okay with her handing her money over to a man afterwards.

I was baptized as a Mormon at 12 and then my parents found out they had to consummate their marriage in front of the whole congregation. They dipped right away after that. They had come to my door, and I told them I was baptized as a child. They came back and told me they found my name in their BOOK OF LIFE!!! After that THEY WOULD NOT LEAVE ME ALONE!!! Even after I told them I was not interested. I finally after 2 years called my dad and asked him how do I get rid of them? He told me "Offer them a beer and a cigarette!" I did and THEY NEVER BOTHERED ME AGAIN!!! 😄😆😂

Sleep depriviation. That is such a huge red flag!! It is a form of torture. If anyone, or any group, exposes you to that, run if you still can.

oh my god, i met this guy! he rented a little shack on my grandfather's property here in brazil for a little while, he was a weird guy. one day my grandfather saw him sleeping on the roof because it was too hot inside, and it was like... the middle of autumn, in a high area of the city. i only saw him once or twice when visiting my grandfather. he only stayed there for a few months before moving to another city for his mission. i had no idea the guy was this messed up. as soon as i saw the picture, i remebered him. i was little, but i remember my younger uncle laughing at the 'white gringo's weird accent'
edit: i showed my uncle a picture of taylor and he recognized him. he said taylor would often steal mangos from my grandather's yard and was really bad in soccer, he would spent some time in my grandfather's bar, trying to preach to the drunk costumers, but he was laughed at by everyone because he couldn't speak portuguese correctly and it was hard to understand what he was saying

All these ‘prophets’ are just scammers every time . I don’t understand how people keep falling for these types of people .

Stories like this make me appreciate my boring little life. I feel so bad for everyone victimized by that violent, cruel ego maniac.

Elvin Bishop: "Fooled Around and Fell in Love." Saw him in concert at a small venue many years ago and my friend and I even somehow managed to get invited backstage to party afterwards. Elvin even talked to me, but the only thing he said to me was something along the lines of, "Would you get your friend out of here?" My friend was blatantly trying to seduce him. I was so embarrassed. It was so sad to hear about his daughter. 😢

I used to work with Justin Helzer at the Black Angus in Pleasant Hill CA. It was a few years before this happened. I remember Glen stopping in a couple times even my 17 year old brain could see the weird energy between the brothers. Justin would invite me over to smoke pot with him but I never went. I thought it was weird for this 25 year old man to want to hang with a 17 year old. I also thought he was pretty nerdy. Once I heard about this I was so so so glad I had always said no!

as someone who was once the kid that could never put a book down, videos like this are a dream come true; unlike an audiobook i can read the captions while i listen along, and i can get as invested in the story as i did when i had the full and wild imagination of a child

what is it with mormon church, they seem to produce so many "prophets" and bizarre cults!!!! that training reminds me of a "group" running called Landmark that heapa of ppl from my work went to and i went but left half way thru seeing how they were trying to tear down and strip us n rebuild.... they actually chased me down the road when i left!!! the colleagues who continued on into the more expensive and "inner circle" courses i could see it in their eyes what it was doing... they had this glazed look and couldnt stop talking about Landmark and really trying to push me to go back! it was fascinating to see a cult in action

Man I’m sooo glad Carrie got away from him. But I’m telling you these types of dudes know how to find the most vulnerable girls. They can pick it up from across a crowded room I swear I’ve seen it.

Just finished Danielle Kristy's video on The Family of Australia. That was brutal and there was zero justice for those 28 children.... Now, onto another cult case...

This was a difficult one to listen to as it was so very sad what happened to all the innocent individuals involved in the story. You tell it so very well though with compassion and detail. SO messed up as cults and mental illness can be.

I have noticed that many creepy cult leaders start out as precocious children who can quote reams of scripture from memory. If you ever meet one of these kids, it probably makes sense to head for the nearest exit as fast as you can.

Speaking from personal experience, if a young man realizes how easy it is to get other people to do what you want them to do, that sense of power & control is also a heady sort of drug. I figured that out just from being one of the more respected/feared people in the local street scene. Sommer, I don't know if you've seen, but one of the new magazines at the local grocery store is the Biography magazine on Secret Societies, & includes some of the cults you've made videos on, & I think the one that stood out on a quick look through the magazine is Daniel Perez, the founder of Angel's Landing, he apparently convinced his followers that he was a 1, 000 year old angel who needed to have sex with young girls to stay alive. I don't think I've ever seen a story on him yet.

I can’t believe I’ve never heard this story. It is absolutely insane. Regular Mormonism is bad enough, but this is so over the top
