One thing that i notice about a lot of doomsday cults is the proclivity for violence. Yes, its the end of the world as we know it, but wouldnt it be more beneficial to be compassionate and show empathy? Im pretty sure thats what you would want to see in your cult, but in practice a lot of cults are filled with people that are self centered and i am inclined to believe that its due to the fearful obsession of doomsday. And this is where i praise Christianity. Im not pushing religion, but it can provide a different perspective on doomsday, not only does the Bible repeatedly say to not be afraid. It paints the end as the requirement for the new beggining, even describing it like birthing pains.
Idk about you, but i would rather be a part of a culture that loves, creates, and values human life.
