I watched this full debate so many times. I watched their many debates together and Lennox is an example of the maxim "Patience is a virtue". This jolly Irishman is a blessing to us all.

It's funny hearing Atheists assume belief in Christianity is "a lazy approach to understanding" after I just spent 5 years straight doing almost nothing but researching science and philosophy deeply, while genuinely questioning what we've all been taught objectively, before I concluded Christianity is the truth (without even beginning with that goal)

I'm not sure why Peter Atkins subjects himself to these debates. He brings absolutely nothing insightful to the table. "Religion is for dummies and science is for smarties!!!" is about the extent of all his arguments and he gets styled on for it over and over again. It's actually quite amazing that someone so "intelligent" is also so self-unaware.

This man had one minute and six seconds to dismantle Atkins, and he did so very thoroughly with love and respect.

These blasphemous followers of Scientism, ie Zohar/Kabbalah mysticism, know there's a God Almighty, they just choose to worship the god of this world for fame and fortune. It's an age old problem, professing themselves wise, they became fools.

So often these titles are oversold. But in this case, it seems entirely justified. Lennox renders Atkins's entire argument absolutely groundless.
C.S. Lewis was the perfect counter-example. He was a guy totally content in his atheism. Atheism was his accepted view (and gladly so) to the point that, "In the Trinity Term of 1929 I gave in, and admitted that God was God, and knelt and prayed: perhaps, that night, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England." Lewis was in the absolute prime of his intellectual capacity. And Atkins has the audacity to claim of him "early-stage senility" What a moron. Who is being senile here?

Did not our Lord say, that those that say they are wise become fools? The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. And He " laughs" at it. Yet, the wisdom of God is foolishness to arrogant man and his Ego. Woe unto you, that think your scientism, will give you true knowledge .
