The largest submarine in the US Navy is facing a giant problem. With the current class of guided-missile submarines or SSGNs being retired in the next few years, the Navy has a big problem in trying to fill that gap. With issues converting existing Virginia-class submarines to take their spot, the Navy is left scrambling to replace these boats in an operating environment where it is not advisable to do so.

If GE can’t fulfill what they said they can do, then the U.S. needs to find another builder that can keep their word and deliver on the date they say they can deliver! Maybe that’s the problem, G E know there’s no one else and don’t care because they have been the builders since 1800’s! FIND A NEW SHIP BUILDER AND GET RID OF G.E.

Doesn't the DoD have a binding maintenance schedule with General Dynamics for all nuclear submarines as well as a plan for replacement and decomissioning of older subs as newer subs came on line? If not, why not?

I think that your message in this video is merely propaganda. Why? You talked about American subs, but you showed at least one Russian sub surfacing. Do you know how to recognize our subs?

So many of us watch our jobs cause of Reagan I was a red badge security clearance worked in the shipyard as a shipwright so many of us went on to other types of jobs. This is 40 years ago or more. We warned you I think this video is for shit she's my language, submission of what we're talking about.

You are indicating that the Ohio nuclear submarines the SSGN models will be retired before the Columbia nuclear subs are built and tested. The U S would not retire an Ohio before its replacement is ready. So don’t put a bad scenario on us to believe. As each Virginia nuclear sub is ready to take duty then one Los Angelos nuclear sub is retired and until the Virginia subs are built then all the Los Angelos subs will be replaced. This is the US policy, and l believe until all the Los Angeles are retired then the US will make the three or five Virginia nuclear subs for Australia it’s common sense. The same situation will be carried out with the Columbia subs. The first model is always the longest to get built. When all the teething problems are corrected then the next thirteen Columbia subs will take far less time to be completed. We may have six Columbia subs and the rest of the fleet be the last built Ohio subs to make up the number needed to complete their duties. Stop this nonsense talk you giving the Russians more hope than they have now.
