Fan fact! Lee Kuan Yew, founder of Singapore almost got himself killed in the randomly selective for male execution, he was pretending forget his jacket to the Japanese soldier, he swept out and never return, those massed up were send to be shot.

I found an historic error: You are still using in Macau the wrong Portuguese flag for the time.

Thanks for the upload . Very heavy and very emotional video to watch because I studied each battle ( Singapore, Hong Kong, various battles in the bay, and what was going on in China simultaneously).

Japan really did go over the top in the 30s and 40s.

Crazy to know Pearl Harbor was happening at the same time.

Yehey, Kings and Generals finally including battles that aren't fought with swords. Fan of sword battles and gun fights.

I remember we had an American in my class back in high school who said in a history lesson 'oh yes December 7th the day the second World War started.'

I just sat there looking at him
Before asking him have you heard of the battle of Poland?

He said no

As far as the USA was concerned Japan is their best friend & ally. they even are part of their military 2022. Who cares about Malaya. it was British colony at the time & it was Japan that stood in the way of USA primacy. thats all !

As a Malaysian, I would like to thank you for this detailed documentary about our history.

It gives an interesting point of view from the outside about it, especially since our textbooks don't focus on the specifics when Imperial Japan was there.

As a Malaysian, I am very amazed with the detail presented. It gives me a perfect view on what happened on those fateful day in WW2. I hope that Kings and Generals continue to make this kind of video... And finish all the WW2 events happened around the world.

When you said "this week we will cover the offensive into British Malaya and the East Indies" I did not expect it this soon. Wow

I'm from Malaysia and we thank you for this video. I hope you can cover more on Battle of Kampar after the fall of Jitra. The Japanese commander boasted to present rich tin mining town of Kampar to the Emperor of Japan on Christmas day but the battle of Kampar hold way long enough for the British to retreat to Muar Johor.

First one here to reply with let's do this. Honestly when you guys announced that you guys are going to cover this topic the little boy inside me was jumping for joy. The Pacific War is one of the history topics that I have always found fascinating since I live on the Pacific Coast. I can't wait to see how much more this awesome series will bring.
