4:10 How to fix vitamin B1 deficiency

In this video, I’m going to talk about what happens when you are deficient in vitamin B1. I’m also going to give you some pointers on what to avoid to prevent vitamin B1 deficiency.

Let’s start with the signs. Here are the top signs of vitamin B1 deficiency:
1. Restless legs syndrome
2. Fast heart rate
3. Tingling or numbness in hands or feet
4. Edema
5. Nightmares
6. Coughing at night
7. Calf tenderness
8. Nystagmus
9. Nervous energy

Causes of low vitamin B1
• Refined carbs
• Refined Sugar
• Liver problems
• Alcohol
• Stress

I don’t recommend that you take synthetic B1 supplements unless you’re doing a fast or cleanse. The best way to increase your vitamin B1 naturally is to use nutritional yeast. You can add nutritional yeast to your food or take it as a supplement. One teaspoon a day should help with vitamin B1 deficiency symptoms.

This man. Dr Berg is the sole reason I've completely changed my life for the better. It all started with his two week challenge to stop using sugar. At the end of the two weeks I felt 10 years younger. Joint pain gone. Bloating gone. Lost 13 lbs. Decided at that point to get on Keto and it's going great. So what ever this is... It works folks.😁

I have all the symptoms of lack of b1. Poor memory, tender calfs, low stress tolerance, cant sleep, slow work out recovery, tight body. I'll start taking b1 and report back. Thanks Doc. I been searching for answers for 16 years and I keep just hearing that's the way it is.
You rock doc.

This guy is so awesome, I love watching his videos. I'm a nursing student in clinicals and idk if it's from learning the sciences behind how the body works but his videos just speak to me in a way that makes sense and it sticks. I started intermittent fasting because of watching him and have lost 30 lbs in the past few months and I'm the best shape of my life at 32, my stomach and midsection look so good I can't even believe it's me in the mirror. Thanks so much for all of your help

Friends kid had many epileptic seizures every day since a baby. Really upsetting. They gave him vitamin B1 and he miraculously never had a seizure since. Not sure how it was administered though.

I take nutritional yeast and mix it with bone broth... so, so good! You can try it in grits, or on veggies too.

What prevents medical education from inclusion of nutritional deficiencies testing and treatment in ALL areas of medical practice? Without this information, doctors are rendered 50% useless, imo! TY Dr. Berg, for illuminating these topics- :)

I have been following this channel for Keto Diet knowledge. Since I been forcing myself to eat more salad greens, I just noticed I don't have restless leg syndrome. Wow, thanks for the info.

Nutritional yeast typically lacks B12. When it's added in after the fact, cyanocobalamin is the B12 used. Cyanocobalamin is the least bioavailable form of B12; the body has to methylate it first before it can be used. Consequently, you may have to supplement with methylcobalimin, the already methylated form of B12, to get sufficient quantities of it.

huh! I learned something new... now I have natural yeast that I bought and symptoms I had DID go away... then I slacked off and didn't take it, and symptoms came back, but I didn't know it was because of this... so.... out comes the natural yeast again, this time I won't slack off … Thank you Dr. Berg.
