I just planted hibiscus a few months ago in large pots, and they are starting to get buds.No flowers yet, but they are trying! I am in Alabama so our winters are mild, but I wasn't sure what temperatures the hibiscus could withstand. So glad I found your video as I will now know how to keep them through the winter.Thank you!!Great presentation.

No video says how much water you give it through out the winter months. Or if you have a place that does not get much sun what do you do? Do you ever trim it back?

But in the garage there is no light. How does the hibiscus live there over winter? I live in condo. I keep my hibiscus in my NE balcony, as my big windows have a lot of light but almost no sun. When temperature gets under 10 C I bring them inside. During summer I water them everyday, as soil gets dry from sun and wind. In winter I water them every 2-3 days. Right now I have some problems with one hibiscus that was gorgeous during summer, but as long as I moved it inside it started getting yellow falling leaves. I don't know what to do.

Im in zone 7. I'm not sure what to do with these 2 I have because I'm not clear on what he's saying, and he mostly deals with the colder climates. My 2 are in pots on my porch, but I guess they can stay there? Although I have access to a greenhouse, it is fairly open due to damage. I worry about the colder days ahead.

Can someone tell me if this particular one, Sinensis, is planted in the ground and if its roots would damage the foundation or pipes? How far away should we plant this one?

We planted ours this past Spring into a rock garden, we do not want to dig it up. Can we cover it with a foam plant casing and let it stay planted? the ground will naturally get moisture from snow melting. Is there another layer of protection beside the styrofoam cover we could use?

Hello. I bought 2 multi-colour hibiscus. I brought them inside for the winter and they lost all their leaves. I'm definitely not even close to a green thumb but, I try. I am confuse about what type a fertilizer to use and when to apply it. I did notice that the branches breaks off easily, like they are dead. I watered them each 10 days or so. Have I killed more plants, AGAIN ?
