Depending on the person, planks may either seem too easy or very difficult.

Just like with any other exercise, we can adjust the difficulty to our current ability - this helps us get stronger faster!

And yes, beyond a certain point, you may not need to do planks anymore. The stabilization and strength needed for some other exercises like one arm pushups and deadlifts are more than a regular plank.

However, if you ever want it, it's good to know some progressions.

his voice is so calming omg, but my trainer makes me do side planks with one arm up in the air and the other in a pushup position, its terrible but helps immensely!!

I always thought planks were supposed to be done in push-up position, but was recently told it was more about keeping your hips in line with your shoulders while having a straight back.

Great info and amazingly motivational.
Move your arms forwards away from your body to increase difficulty as well. (Elbows ''above'' shoulders, or even straight arm.)

I've been doing planks almost every day for exactly a year now. I started at barely 30 seconds, now I can do 30 minutes max.
Consistency pays.

my favorite plank is a rugby plank where your arms are straight and your knees are bent at a 90 angle almost like youre about to crawl. Doesnt hurt at first but it is killer after a min or so
