What Is The Speed Of Gravity?

What is the speed of gravity? Not the speed at which things fall on the ground, but the speed at which gravity itself travels?

This video tackles a question that I am yet to find a satisfactory presentation and answer on YouTube with.

What fascinate me the most about gravity is how its one of the weakest fundamental forces and yet still it keeps galaxies together. Great video, well done!

If earth's gravity decreased, space flight would be much cheaper and easier.

Am I the only one laughing hysterically when that planet just farted into existence

Why would I change Earth's gravity?! It's perfect!

that planet popping into exsistance sound effect was the best.

If earth had less/more gravity from the beginning, we would've developed differently, but if that happened now - I would choose more gravity. I would feel annoyed, that my stuff flies all around the room :D
P.S. Awesome video, Dale! Appreciate your work ;) Cheers

So short video :(, just 31 seconds, at least I had a nice day! :)

DECREASE GRAVITY!!! You could jump off skycrapers + less suicides! :D

Ps. An intersting fact is that gravity pulls everything with the same speed! :D

I really appreciate that planet that popped up along with a fart noise haha

70-80% of earth's gravity would be great, makes it easier to get out of bed every morning.

1:32  I liked the sound effect of the planet.

I would love if the Think Fact did a video on GMO's and all of its surrounding controversies.

You should do a video about dimensions that go beyond our three.

I wouldn't care if it was stronger or weaker, so long as the accompanying change to Earth made the same sound as the planet at 1:31

I loved this Minute Facts too! I would want the gravity to be decreased simply so I could jump high.

To answer the question of increasing or decreasing gravity, I would say that the question can be better framed if asked like ‘if you could regulate gravity of earth at a specific conic section of a planet ‘ . Then the possibilities of harnessing locomotion by means of differential gravity can be obtained

I would increase it to decrease the amount of joy we have when we jump! Bwahahahahaha!

If we decrease the gravity, we'd all become the lazy blobs from Wall-E. If we increase it ever so slightly, We may just have a couple generations of fairly fit people, because they'd be exercising all the time by just moving. I'm sure there are quite a few holes in that concept, and yeah, changing gravity either way would wreak havoc on the whole ecosystem.

Interesting question you pose at the end.  If you could reduce the force of gravity by say even 1% would that significantly affect daily life?  Would cars / airplanes get better gas mileage for example since everything would weigh a bit less.  Friction would be reduced slightly, and objects would have less inertia requiring less energy to move an object at rest.  Would 1% even be significant, and if not, at what percentage would a significant difference start to take place?
