Thanks for the video. I tested the continuity on the contractor on one side and didn't get a reading. Then tested the other side and it was good, so I went back to the bad side and tried pushing in a few more times and finally got a reading. Then tested the coil on ohms and it went up to 36. The conclusion is the contractor has badly worn contacts and with a somewhat shorted coil.

THIS IS NOT THE PROPER WAY TO TEST A CONTACTOR, ALTHOUGH THIS WILL GIVE YOU SOME INFO, A CONTACTOR MUST ALSO BE TESTED UNDER LOAD. JUST BECAUSE THE CONTACOR CLOSES AND EVERYTHING COMES ON YOU COULD STILL HAVE VOLTAGE DROP OR A INCREASE IN AMPERAGE ACROSS THE CONTACTS. AND TOOLS ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PERSON USING THEM NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. FOR AN EXAMPLE WATCH THE ABOVE VIDEO OF A SALESMAN PLAYING THE PART OF A TECH. NOTHING AGAINST THE SALESMAN HE DID MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION. AS A STATE LICENSED HVAC CONTRACTOR WITH 37 YEARS IN THE TRADE I HAVE CHANGED MORE WORN CONTACTORS THAN FAILED ONES. CONTACTORS, CAPACITORS, AND BATTERIES SHOULD BE CHECKED UNDER LOAD. NOT WHEN THEY ARE IDLE.

what is the resistance of the contact if we measure from L1 to T1?

ive changed the cotactor and capacitor but still ac is not working. there is no buzzing sound or nothing.its dead. but when i press the contactor it works.
