A lot of inaccurate information here. Russian blues are on the list of cats that shed very little. And their temperament is quite the opposite of almost everything you listed. They are loving, but independent cats. The rest are just not good enough reasons.

I have a blue Russian cat. He is the absolute sweetest cat I’ve ever come across. He’s very vocal, he loves cuddles and he’s so darn sweet

Did I get a FAKE Russian Blue? My Russian Blue kitten is very independent. She wants to be left alone. She rarely meows. Sometimes I even forget I have a cat. She comes to me only when SHE wants to. She does NOT shed much. Overall, she’s a quiet, independent, snooty little princess. Beautiful and elegant. The only thing you said was true was she does like to clime and explore everywhere, which cat doesn’t?

Russian Blues are low shedding cats and carry hardly any of the allergens that afflict people who react to cats. I concur that Russian Blues are incredibly intelligent and vocal. They are also known for picking a favourite human family memeber and becoming that individual's cat. They are not fond of strangers. Unlike most breeds of cat Russian Blues generally love to have their tummies rubbed and can form a very intense and loving relationship with their preferred human.

My Russian Blue is the best. We got him from shelter pet partners as a "mixed breed" and had no idea what a Russian Blue was when we got him. (Purple paw pads, green eyes, solid gray, double coat of fur soft as a rabbit) Lots of people say they don't shed and they do a little bit but nothing like other cats I've had. He asks to be brushed with his rubber static brush that attracts hair several times a day. We only get a lot of fur on it when the season changes. He wants to be pampered, scratched, played with all the time. He is with us all the time even wants to spend his daytime sleep in whatever room we are in (He has a window ledge sleep box in every room). He knows words and can respond to questions like, Go for walk? by going to the door or, Go potty? by going to the door or bathroom. And Go for bath? By hiding under the bed. It is true he hates change and other cats. On a walk if he sees something out of place he'll walk as far away as he can to avoid the new thing. He is totally nocturnal. Hates going for daytime walks, only go after dark for him. He likes his routine the same, no new people in the house, no visiting pets although he may tolerate it, he hates it. And yes, he'll let us know if the litter box is not pristine. For that reason he prefers to urinate on the toilet and will scratch the seat till we come flush it for him. He has his own parkour course in the living room with a tree leading to a catwalk leading to the stairs and other parts of the house with jump off spots. He loves to bound to the top of that pole and leap from shelf to shelf that we staged along the wall for his delight. My Russian Blue doesn't talk much, I actually had to train him to "Use your words", ‘cause he would just look at it me and expect me to know what it is that he wants. Now he knows to meow, instead of scratch furniture to get my attention and lead me to the thing he wants. He also uses body language to say he's bored, head between paws, or wants to play, sit under the cupboard where the toys are kept or run to his "brushing station" and lay down by the brush. We love him so much he's the softest most gentle, never bites or scratches, loving kitty ever. Still playful at 8 years old. Best cat ever. One word of warning is to buy only the highest standards of any commercial pet food. This breed, especially males, are prone to bladder obstructions and must have the highest quality wet food. We prefer Darwin brand raw food specially designed for urinary maintenance. Its delivered to your door in dry ice. The folks at Darwin are the best. They will help you understand your pet's nutritional needs.

As a Russian blue enthusiast I have to say most information in this video is wrong. Sure the Russian blue is sometimes vocal but only when it needs something other wise it is very quite.

All true for my russian except the shedding. Course I do brush him lightly on a daily basis...so maybe that helps with the shedding. He is very loving and affectionate which I love. I am at home all day long so we are on the same exact schedule. He is very sensitive in many we work around that. The joy he gives me far outweighs any quirk. His fur is like a mink coat so I have a hard time keeping my hands off of him when he is trying to nap. He sleeps right at my head every night....with legs open so I will rub his belly. I will have to say he, out of all the cats I have owned throughout my life, is the most unique in so many ways. The funniest thing which I have never experience before is that he has numerous beds. And he likes for me to change up after a couple of weeks. So that keeps me busy in the creativity department. You can only do so much with a cat Always has to have a piece of my clothing....and a way to make the area dark whether its a curtain, door, I could go on....but I've taken up enough space I'm afraid. Thanks for sharing. Oh....forgot one thing. I rescued Kip from the local vet. The owners wanted him put to sleep because he had developed some bad behaviors that I think came from a stress environment. Large dogs and children. I don't think they like alot of hooplah. At least Kip doesn't. He saved me because I am old and live I saved him from a death sentence. We found each other.
