I think the US wouldn’t be so happy if Germany would stop buying US Weapons…

Most of the vehicles aren't "able" to fly, or to be driven, because our bureaucracy states them as disfunctional when for example a mirror of a vehicle is blown off. Technically they are usable, but just won't be used.

Well... when Germany says that only 20% of its forces are ready for action, it wants the world and the German population to think so. That doesn't mean that's really the case.

The bureaucracy and legal guidelines to certify official “operational readiness” in peacetime are extremely strict. That doesn't mean that nothing is operational when there is an emergency. In the event of an escalation, many of these hurdles would immediately fall away. Then, from one day to the next, they would be 100% operational.

It is probably tactically clever to make yourself look weaker than you actually are.

The problem with the G36 It only existed in the first version of the rifle and then disappeared completely, after that there was only a stupid clueless politician who started the rumor that there were other problems with the rifle that did not exist.

Yeah Germany has a problem with the "Gold rand lösung" (comes from the fancy plates with a goldened edge)
With means we don't buy what's available, but we wanna engineer and built it ourselves -witch almost always let the financial costs skyrocketing.

But if you wanna see some over engineered Bundeswehr stuff...
Look at the "Panzer Richtmiene" the "Mantis or Skynet" and the "20mm/ Rocket Wiesel"

I don't think money can cure this. There's two main obstacles which imho won't be overcome within the next couple of years. One is bureaucracy, which is crazy in germany. Everything is regulated, many things are forbidden and those rules do not exempt the army. The other thing is what is mentioned in the video. The Military has a very bad reputation in germany and there's no patriotism. Violence has a bad reputation. You cannot hire soldiers in that climate. After WW2, everything had been about peace, about not being violent. And that's stuck into the head of this population. No campaign can change that in a reasonable time - it'll take decades.
Well, that's my opinion at least. Spending money will buy you the tech, but it won't get you anywhere.

much of those claims are BS of first grade to play weak. like mentioned at the beginning, wouldn't you want to hide your strength? take undies, rules changed, you may wear your own for private comfort. or fighter jets. if only 20% is airworthy that actually translates into having 80% in reserve during peacetime. luftwaffe complained that they have to 3d print spare parts for tornado, well but that actually means they can do that till the end of days. nuclear abilities will be replaced by F-35 and cruise missiles.

when wall fell, bundeswehr inhaled east german army and became the worlds largest army. with that came post soviet infiltration one had to deal with. that is why this appears so weird.

Well to be fair, the "not combat ready" status for helicopters and planes is because we have very high maintenaince standards in peace times... if they have to fly to do country defence, readiness would be about 90%. And the G36 beeing not reliable is a myth! Every american soldier that i met, and that got to try it said, it handels like a toy gun, but is very accurate! Simple and easy!

To quote Donald Trump "germany agreed to strengthen it's military... CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR" end quote. They all want us to step it up and once we do they start to cry again 😂

Glad you like the Reichstag. As for the 100 billion: you must not forget that there is an EU law that says that larger contracts have to be put out to tender across the EU. As for development: Germany has the most modern artillery system, currently the most modern MBT and the most modern non-nuclear submarines in the world.

In 1990 Germany after the merge Bundeswehr and National People's Army ( FRG + GDR) had the most tanks (3600) aircraft, 600 many coastal boats as well as frigates and submarines and about 560, 000 soldiers and 450, 000 reservists.
That was too much power for ex allies so it had to be dismantled, the weapons went to Greece / Turkey and the Middle East. There is no war without German weapons. And in 2000, a defensive army became a multifictional army, which means a different interpretation of training and weapon systems. Something like this doesn't happen overnight. I think in my experience it will take about 10-15 years until the new army is in place.

It is part of a bigger picture, if germany would have a really effective army our neighbors would get nervous again. EU and NATO non withstanding

I'm sending you an interesting video to watch. Title: " How Poland is preparing for WAR " from the MilitaryRated channel. /not to be confused with a video from a year ago with the same title from another channel/.
I wonder what you will say after watching it.
In addition, I propose two other films.
1. Can Poland's Army STOP Russian Invasion? from The Military Show channel /it's not so optimistic anymore/
2. If NATO and RUSSIA Go To War, Who Loses (Hour by Hour) from the same channel

Also, Germany is building up their own military production lines massivly. Not only the ammunition facilities but also with FCAS, RCH118, Iris-t SLL, EMBT and so on and so forth.
Some of those new productionlines tho will only be ready in around 2040 but are to important to not get substitutes until then.
One example would be FCAS - a Gen 6 fighterjetproject. While the F35 is considered a 5.5ish gen fighterjet Europe didnt developed jets that are comparible in their attributes.
With China and the US beeing on the brink of a hot war however, it makes sense to not wait for 2040 to start filling the holes for the need of modern fighterjets I think.
