Many ask which wood pellet has a better taste? For pellet grills or smokers, wood pellets are the fuel source, they also provide the smoke flavor. I put 7 brands to the test to see which wood pellet I preferred.

I really appreciate the analytical approach and trying to eliminate variables like with the sues vide. I hadn't thought about how many youtubers don't repeat their experiments when reviewing stuff like pellets and I'm really glad you ended up doing it with this video. Cheers!

Wow, this was the most transparent and informative comparison video I’ve watched. Thank you for working to be so thorough! I’m new to your channel and like what I see so far!

Pausing the video for the comment. First, thanks for following through with posting. After seeing the video that referenced a future pellet comparison video, I went looking for it and was glad to find it. Second, thank you for your transparency and honesty.

This was great! I am completely new to the pellet game, and your information is valuable. I’ve been a WSM & PBC user for years, but this is a whole new thing for me. Thank you for helping me winnow out the players in the world of pellet smoking. 👍

For those who don't watch the whole video. I approached Bear Mountain several months after these tests. I explain that near the end. ❓ What Video Do You Want To See Next ❓ - Comment below

I joined Bear Mountain ambassadors! I was inspired by you to try them and reach out to them. Proud to be representing them in my videos.

First off: great videos (ive watched several)
Second: been using a traeger little Tex 3-5 times a week for near 20 years, feeding 2-12 people per cook.
My grill is finicky at low and high temperatures.
Bear mountian pellets work very well for me. And they are cheap compaired to pellets that are inferior (traeger/ pit boss/ cosco).
Happy cooking and eating to all.

That's the results I came out with as well. I Love Bear Mountain too! And I go between those 3 most of the time. I first heard that Lumberjack made pellets for Weber and they do look very similar. Then someone commented that they also made pellets for Kingsford, but by looking at them it's hard to say but they don't look anything alike! I recently got to review a small producers wine infused pellets and man, those not only had a great smoky flavor, but also I feel the wine brought out the flavor of the meat! So I've now included them in my favorites! Awesome review!👍👊

THANK-YOU for such a huge effort on such a monumental task!!! I can't get out and about much these days, but am happy with Bear Mountain hickory pellets. My days of cutting, blocking, and splitting are past, so am happy to get good results with a table top pellet smoker. I can't even pick that up anymore, so don't all you younger folks knock everything that is not a steel off-set smoker until you get old!!!

Thank you for making such a great video. I’m new to pellet smokers and you just saved me a lot of time and money. Along with other knowledge I have obtained. This should be a promising adventure.

I just started cooking on a pellet grill. On my quest to picking out a grill I quickly became a fan of yours. Can’t recall where but I came across info that Bear Mountain acquired Lumberjack. From what I gathered Lumberjack changed their pellet ratios closer to that of Bear Mountain. It would make sense they came in as your top two. Congrats on the ambassadorship. I’m always looking forward to your videos.

Bear Mountain got their money worth with you. I’ll be shopping with them going forward.

Excellent critical review. Bear Mountain is my favorite. I have used BBQrs Delight that came with my Yoder and re-ordered several times. They work very well. You are right about Traeger - light on the smoke.

Very informative and technical. I'd love to see more varieties of pellets used, for example, Camp Chef is constantly one of the years top ten smokers, and they make their own pellets, but nobody seems to know about them or test them. I've tried Lumber Jack and Bear Mountain and what I noticed from them was far more dust in my smoker after the same amount of cooking and I didn't notice any flavor difference in the smoke flavor from them vs. Camp Chef.

Great video! Bear mountain and lumberjack are my 1 and 2 as well. I have noticed that the bear mountain seem to have less ash as well which is nice.

Excellent video - I am about one year into my pellet smoker and now am trying to fine tune. As part of the fine tuning, I am narrowing down my preferred pellets - down to Bear Mountain and Knotty Wood. I am finding my meat choice may dictate my choice of pellets but not quite to any definitive answers. Thx for all your work and insights - please keep up to good work!!!!
