2020 New Peugeot 208 in-depth Review Interior Exterior.

The all-new PEUGEOT 208 has been named as one of the seven finalists for the highly coveted Car of the Year (COTY) 2020 title.

The COTY jury, composed of 60 automotive experts across Europe, praised the all-new PEUGEOT 208 for its sharp and dynamic design and its distinctive customer offering in the sector. The all-new 208 is the first vehicle to fulfil PEUGEOT’s new philosophy of ‘choose your PEUGEOT, choose your powertrain’, and from launch will be available with a fully electric variant, the e-208, as well as a range of efficient diesel and petrol engines.

Judges were also impressed by the high levels of technology offered in the all-new 208. The next-generation PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit® introduces innovative hologram technology. The 3D holograms, displayed on the configurable 3D head-up display, get closer to the drivers’ field of vision to highlight potential hazards.

The all-new 208 also features driving assistance technologies usually reserved for larger vehicle segments, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Active Lane Positioning Assist, and comes standard with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto connectivity.

The winner of the Car of the Year 2020 award will be announced on 2nd March 2020 at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK, said: “The Car of the Year title is arguably one of the most coveted awards in the industry. To be recognised in the final seven vehicles is already a great achievement for the all-new PEUGEOT 208, and is just reward for the hard work we’ve put into developing the vehicle.

“The all-new 208 is the first vehicle to follow our vision of offering electric, petrol and diesel powertrains in a single model, and the COTY nomination suggests the industry is just as excited about the all-new 208 as we are.”

In a B segment tending ever more towards standardisation, to the detriment of notions such as pleasure or youthfulness, the PEUGEOT brand sets itself apart in introducing the alluring new PEUGEOT 208.

Because car usage is shifting, because energy transition is a true opportunity, new PEUGEOT 208 offers, right from launch, three different energy source options – electric, petrol or diesel. Body line no longer dictates vehicle usage!

This new PEUGEOT 208 generation, which fits perfectly into the brand’s upmarket move strategy, is distinguished by its keen design that brings with it a breath of youth and energy.

In addition to original, distinctive styling, new PEUGEOT 208 is also breaking ground with a new generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit© including a 3D head-up display and myriad driving aids normally reserved for higher market segments.

This isn't just my new favourite small car, it's one of my favourite new cars full stop. If I can afford one at any point, I will drop everything I'm doing and go buy one. What I really like about it, is that it's still quite small. So many superminis these days are almost as big as proper family hatchbacks (VW golf sized for example). Whereas this new 208 is actually smaller than its predecessor. Sure, it means that it isn't quite as practical as most of its rivals, but come on, just look at it 😍

You're wrong about the trunk, it's actually smaller than the other trunks of this class. It's its main con, the space inside the trunk and back seats is smaller than other cars.

Just... wow..! 😍
The only thing that kind of ticks me off design wise is Peugeot's choice to abandon the elliptical, cat's eyes headlights. They're kind of squared-off in this model.

In my opinion you repeatedly misuse the word 'awesome' in this context, thoughtlessly throwing it around ad nauseum about a collection of metal, plastic and glass. Your wordbank has run out of currency. The thing doesn't r e m o t e l y qualify for the term 'awesome'. Awesome? Awesome to me is, for example, a majestic sunset over The Mekong; the pole-axing impact of an oil painting by one of the Masters or, say, a Handel aria bristling with firiortura. The object you're talking about hardly compares with those splendours... My perception of the car's outer appearance is that it's ugly and itty-bitty. It looks like it was designed by a committee, unable to agree what it wants. Gawdy. Brash. Flash. It seems to me you all but wet your underwear in the course of singing its praises. So be it. Each to their own perception. As for myself, I can't see it the way you do but we're each entitled to our differing views. I just wish you'd choose your terminology with greater care.
