Excellent video ! I have a Ford Fusion 2020 and has basically the same setup. What was more annoying than having to hit that button every time you start the car was FORGETTING to hit that button every time I start the car.!!

The engineers that came up with this useless feature should be fired immediately. It serves no purpose and does absolutely nothing except to add more wear and tear on your engine and starter. So happy Ford allows it to be removed on my '22 F150!! I never have to worry about this again!

Found it on my 2017 Ford Ranger truck. Plug was identical and easy to do. The only difference was the light displayed on the panel was the check engine light instead of the auto-start amber light. The annual inspection in Texas will not pass with a check engine light, however I will only need to plug it back in when the inspection is due. Good job my friend!

I started turning off the "Auto-Stall" feature every time I started my truck. After a week it was automatic. After a month I didn't realize that I was doing it.
Like buckling up or stepping on the brake to shift the truck into reverse to back out of the garage, it becomes something that you do without thinking about it.
PS I started calling it "auto stall" the second time it happened to me, and everyone else I know think it's an apt description.

Got a 2020 Pacifica sitting in my driveway right now. Wife drove it home from the dealership this afternoon. Has 20, 000 miles on it, thinking of buying it. Your videos help!

Totally agree. That split second lag is especially dangerous at busy T-junctions.

Ours broke all by itself so I didn't have to do this technique but this is an awesome information to have. The one thing that maybe others don't realize is that this system causes your car to start over and over again which seems obvious but the cost of the starter when it fails because of the excessive starting will cost you more than any savings you'll ever get in gas mileage by having the system enabled in the first place

Thanks to you my friend, I learned about Autostop Eliminator. The bad news was I had to wait over a year for them to cover my make and car. The good news is, the product is now available for Kia Seltos which I have. Today I am installing it. Free, free, free at last. Thank you! You are my Autostop Eliminator Hero! All the best to you and your channel!

This was easy to listen to, very clear in the solution--I found the man enjoyable and real. I really liked his solution, gonna try on my Subaru Forester.

There's an easier way without the warning light or unplugging everything, which will affect other features. Push the idle on/off button to off (light on). While holding it down, wedge a thin peice of plastic between that button and the console, so the button cannot go back up. It's jammed in the off mode. Been doing that for 3 years and works great!

It's important to note that this feature isn't primarily for you as the customer. This feature is so the car manufacturers can market their car as slightly more efficient than it really is. This bumps them up on the charts since technically it will burn slightly less in the "city driving" metric. Since all the manufacturers are so close in terms of fuel economy, this tiny bump causes them to gain a lot of places on the charts if they do it and your company doesn't, thus this annoying feature spread throughout the industry like wildfire. The manufacturer doesn't care about the longevity of the car as long as it makes it to the end of the warranty period. so i mean, if you dont care either, and also dont want AC/Heat while stopped, and dont care about a worn-out starter, and dont care about wearing out the bottom end faster, then by all means save a few bucks a month on fuel (potentially). But for people who want to keep their car for a long time and not treat it like getting a new phone every year or 2, then this feature is crap.

Thank you so much for the simple solution you shared. Took me a few seconds to find and disconnect. Works a treat. Yes a small dash alert appears but not intrusive at all.

My vehicle is a Ford Everest 2020 (Australia version).

Soooo, happy it was this easy to solve!!!

Better bring jump starter pack in your car along with this feature because oh boy you will need it some day i speak by experience…This stupid feature has left me stranded a couple of times in traffics light and the crazy thing is that the car doesn’t start on back leaving you in the middle of the streets. THANK YOU FOR SHARE THIS TRICK

You are correct. This feature is just dangerous. When your car auto-stops at an intersection, and then you go to accelerate into oncoming traffic and it doesn't fire up right away, your timing can be thrown off, lurching you forward at the wrong moment, causing an accident. I despise government overreach and stupidity.

The MAJOR problem with auto-idle (which isn't mentioned here) is the fact that starting your engine is the single most damaging activity to your engine. Why would you save a little in gas to greatly decrease the longevity of your engine? Does not make sense.

what a calm and composed way of explaining.. thanks a lot for the complete insight.. will try if this is applicable to VW Taigun in Indian Market..

I'm sure no one ever mentions the most serious problem with this feature. When your vehicle does not restart after lifting your foot off the brake. My car has stopped several times at a stop light and would not restart. So I had to place it into park and turn off my engine, then restart it. My most scariest and most unacceptable occasion was when I was in RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC (stop. & go). My vehicle stopped, I quickly placed it into park and tried 3 times to restart before my vehicle restarted. I took it to the dealership and told them I do not want this feature and wanted it removed or disabled but was told it couldn't be disabled. I was told it was because my battery needed to be recharged. I am waiting for the first court case of injury or death for anything to change. My next vehicle will be based on not having this feature. Good luck, everyone.
