Excellent. The east does not try to bring everything into rational explanation. God's ways are higher than ours. It is enough to believe and accept what the Lord has said. I'm working hard to shed this mindset of human rationality which I was raised with.

Father Peter Heers speaks a lot about “crucifying the rational mind”; something that I’m not even sure how to begin doing. I would assume it begins with crucifying the passions and beginning to adopt a life of more strict asceticism. The fact that there are saints that were able to achieve perfection is mind blowing and one of the many things that drew me to orthodoxy.

This might be my favourite thing about Orthodoxy. They don't claim to have all the answers, they acknowledge the limitations of the human mind and bridge the gap through relgious experiences. That's the correct way to approach God, it must be

As a Pentecost, this is very enlightening. I have definitely felt changes that my body has felt, that I’ve been unable to explain to others. I admire the Orthodox Church so much

This teaching is so beautiful, and deeply touched my heart and soul. are events in which God is present in a mystical way. We cannot perceive with the physical senses, but God does something. He acts out to change the world, to make it sacred, to make it holy..." I have never heard this truth before. Not in my entire life. This is beyond beautiful and opens my heart to God, bringing me close to Him, which is my desire. Words cannot express my thankfulness to you, Father Panayiotis, and to God, for this amazing teaching....which is a rare treasure for me. God bless you.

"We leave it to the mystery" As a Protestant, this makes more sense to me than the Catholic view.

I enjoy the videos put on YouTube very much. Though I am Catholic I am drawn more and more to The East. I have been to the Greek Orthodox Church were the Father is at. It is a wonderful church filled with very nice people. I took a year off Greek language classes there.

Yes it should be a mystery, and not explained or rationalised. Holy things are holy things and cannot be brought down to earthly thinking; but to remain a holy mystery. It is for mankind to raise himself to be holy through Christ, not to bring things down to the level of mankind. That is why orthodoxy is the truth and the Catholic church is really a heresy. Thank you and God bless

Christ didn’t say to his Apostles this is like my body and this is like my blood. I want to participate in that which Christ offered his Apostles and require no further explanation or expectation, how could I a sinner seeking salvation.

My Protestant church always saw the body of and blood of Christ in our communion and let us know that by the prayers we said before communion. And we used leavened bread ;-). It gave me a great foundation of the Lord and to how to love the Lord that I probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere else and if I didn't have that Foundation I would be looking to love the Lord today at a much older age. My church gave me a great Foundation to Spring from and find what I really thought was the truth. Christ is risen! 🙏

Very good way of explaining. God bless you. Thanks for making effort to post all videos. Our people in our own faith need to learn these things. You would not believe in the Sunday school I use to help with . Sometimes the adults would come in with their kids to sit and listen to us teach Several people have said I never knew about Orthodoxy.

Sounds very similar to the Anglican tradition as well. We reject transubstantiation, but have a prayer of consecration where we ask the Father to do the same. Some say that Christ's presence is only spiritual, but many of us see it in a more incarnational way as well, where the bread and wine participate in the body and blood of Christ as St. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:16

Very beautiful. If God endowed us with reason, then human reason is good and a gift to be used. The problem is when we misuse it to serve our base needs and desires to the exclusion of noble needs and desires. Therefore, there is legitimate room for explanations, provided that our faith is not based upon them.

It would be wonderful if the Catholic and Orthodox doctrines reconcile... with God all things are possible.
