My problem, is that my gaming laptop manufacturer explicitly says NOT to update to windows 11. Of course, Microsoft keeps trying to shove it down my throat, even without asking, they installed it. I'm going to be awfully angry if they brick my laptop.

Microsoft can suck it! I won't buy a new PC, so I can meet their BS Windows 11 requirements. If I decide to buy a new PC, the first thing I will do is remove Windows 11 (aka Spyware OS)!

I just switched to Linux Mint Cinnamon about a week ago. So far no issues. It only takes up like 6 gigs on my hard drive and runs so fast.

My work has hundreds of 4th and 6th gen Intel desktops and laptops that are more than enough for the work we do. Mostly remote app access that uses the server's CPU power and Microsoft Office. This lack of Windows 11 is going to kill us.

Microsoft over here giving people a reason to seriously consider Linux instead. Let's go, SteamOS! Gimme a reason not to put Windows on the new system that I'm building.

16 E-cores? Guess I'm staying with team red for the foreseeable future.

Oh good, Intel's finally back pedaling their clocks for stability. That wattage was getting out of hand regardless of 13th/14th gen reputations.

From Denmark,

I myself switched my 5 PC+s from Windows 10 to Linux Mint 21.2 now (21.3) 10 months ago. And I will go to Mint 22 in short time.

And I have not regretted that, My main computer I use is a Ryzen 5800x with an RX 6600 which works 100%.

And Those who only need to use their PC for online banking, mail, printing, surfing the net will never run into problems, that is my experience
.

I'm so tired of their licenses you have to buy, here in Denmark a license for Windows 11 costs a whopping 100 dollars

And all their nagging that they come up with now.

I enjoy it, I find it challenging, and never Windows again.

And I newer come back to Windows again.

Arrow Lake will be a much bigger upgrade over Raptor Lake if it can even simply keep up with the performance of last gen, because of the TDP reduction, and we just know that the Raptor Lake chips just don't perform well at the 125W limit, so it can even reach Raptor Lake's peak performance, that would be a huge improvement in efficiency. Of course, Ryzen may still at efficiency overall but it'd still be big move forward for Intel. The reason why this will be a better release than Ryzen 9000 if the aforementioned conditions are true, is because Ryzen 9000 is not really a big improvement in both efficiency and performance. Ryzen 7000 CPUs perform very similarly to the 9000 series in the 65W Eco Mode.

I wouldn’t buy an Intel Cpu for at least another 1.5 years to see if 13-14th gen problems or other issues pop up. Amd fell flat on the 9000 series as it doesn’t seem to be done and the launch should have been held up. Amd had one job, just one to launch a great CPU following Intel’s failures and what do they do follow Intel down the drain. The 7000 series seems to be the CPU, especially the 7800x3d to buy.

IMO the TPM 2.0 requirement wouldn't be so bad if they had a good alternative. I understand wanting all new computers to have it, but people who are still using that older hardware shouldn't be screwed. That being said, in five years we probably won't care anymore, unless there's a new issue requiring new hardware.

We need another OS other than Windows. Something user friendly.
