A friend of mine thought this only works with 3' 4' and 5' I explained that any numbers would work if they all shared a common dominator and the 3 4 5 rule. He didn't agree so I asked him if 9' 12' and 15' would work. He agreed after I pointed out it was still 3 4 and 5 just in yards.

3-4-5. 6-8-10. 12- 16-20 30-40-50 and so on does the same thing. this is how we put control lines down on commercial construction.

Always have a problem when measuring tape, when i try to woodworking, I always forgot whether to measure as for the tip should be across the other side of the wood or the other way? 😂 I hope you understand what im trying to say 😅..

How do you know the cross measurement is correct? Do you measure with the tape corner inside the mark or outside? It does make a difference.

If making a lot of them. I found it useful to make a giant 3x4x5ft triangle. Then just line you boards up. No measuring

if you hooked over then you measure out side . so your form is not square ⬜.

OK...tip was bend the tape until you get exactly 5!

Nice trick, I use 3/4/5 inches, I'm sure this way is easier to be accurate

Show the whole picture next time...we can't see where you pulled the tape from or pushed the tape into....inside corner or outside edge
