I need advice on a situation I am in now. I was working as a contractor at Assistant reacher II level and then offered a FT Scientist role after 2 years. During the final stage they had to stop hiring me because of budget freeze. This week they came back to me with an offer but for an Assistant researcher but full time. Is it fair to ask for the scientist role again? How do I succeed if they say there is set budget? What justification can I give them? I was out of job for 4 months now.
