Never accept a counter. If they wanted you, they'd have seen to it long before the time you give notice. They just want you to train your replacement.

I would never accept a counter offer. In most cases, the whole purpose looking for another job and taking another job is because you want out of your current situation for various reasons. A counter offer isn’t going to change the way you feel about the company

I’m about to give my notice. I was promised a raise. But I think they never intended to give it. I’ve found another job that pays much more.

85% of people that accept a counter offer either leave or get let go in six months. That goes up to 90% after 12 months.

I’m having a team meeting this morning for counter offer ! The company took them 2 months to realize my value to their business. I already signed a new job with other company. But I’ll see what the old company, what they have to offer. Stay tuned. Thank you for the great advice .

Interesting video. You are right most employers will not try and sell you on staying (unless you are stellar employee). They simply dont care and will hire someone cheaper than you. When I left my boss what they could do to keep me. I said give me a promotion lol. Thx.

Sir, i worked for a small company for 7 years and I did put my hand up for a couple of promotions but was given to their own kind( they are a Christian group similar to Amish in the US). I’ve had enough so I found a job which paid $15k more and ended up leaving the old company. I did train a person for my role, but that person has left in a month(very smart guy!!).I am in my new job for 5 months and I love it but my previous employer keeps calling me everyday because they are loosing a lot of money outsource the job, they want me to come back and work for them or at least train someone again. I haven’t been answering their calls now because eveytime i see my old bosses number on the phone i get upset on the way they treated me. How can I stop them from calling me?

100% of the people that stay in the same, won’t receive a better salary until a counter offer.

I accepted a counter offer in the form of changing my work schedule. I was leaving due to management, but now my new work schedule is ideal but obviously same bad management.

What about accepting a counter offer when you're a contractor and the offer is full time and pays at least $30k more

By and large I find counters insulting, and I don't consider them. If I'm a good performer, and have already explained that my salary has not kept up with inflation and thus I'm experiencing an effective salary decrease every year, and those discussions haven't borne fruit, then the employer has already made a conscious, deliberate refusal to pay what I'm worth. To me, accepting a counter is tacitly acknowledging that I'm tolerant of kind of contempt, and I just won't do it.

Hello Thanks for the video, I need an advice here, I am having an offer from MNC tech. My current organisation is a small (1000 people) emerging Cloud Tech company. They are giving me a counter offer and I have been working here for the past 1 year and 3 months. The work environment is good and have a supportive boss.
India's MNC tech - will have more challenge, work life balance will not be good
Should I consider only brand value and move? or should I stay?

My answer is NO for counter offer because I’m sure before you make that decision ( quit )you or very give some warning what’s wrong or what you want. whatever they offering today how come they didn’t offer couples months ago ? They knew you are planing to leaving.

I'm planning on giving notice tomorrow. I can't imagine the company giving me a counter offer because of the business hierarchy. If they do present a counter, I would consider it.
