Interesting enough, the Russian Defense Minster Shoigu has never served in the field, meaning he does not know much about the ordeal soldiers go through. That said, it is not uncommon this days in Politics and Military. Those who have served and suffered would, if they were to be in command would never let themselves into such a slaughter for humanitarian reasons.
